It's stories like this that need to shut both the public and the media up whenever fighters lose. They scream from the rooftops that their careers are in tatters, that they may never climb back up. Dubois - promising youngster, lost to Joyce and everyone said he was a quitter and didn't have it. Lost to Usyk and the same things were said. Took out some highly ranked opponents and then destroyed Joshua. Joshua - lost to Ruiz and people doubted him. Rebuilt, lost to Usyk. Immediate rematch, lost again. Rebuilt with good wins and then lost to Dubois - and has vowed to come again. Boxing is one on one - and very few go through their careers without losing. Does it mean they are done, or not any good? No, it means they lost on the night - that could be to a better fighter, that could be to a better gameplan, that could be to overlooking an opponent. Lots of things can lead to losses - but in a one on one fight, anything can happen. For me - it's always been about what they do next that is the key. Do they become gun-shy, or does it drive that desire.

Here we go again. A HW has a good win - he's unstoppable, scariest man I the division etc. A HW takes a loss - he should retire, he's cooked. Sh@t happens in HW boxing. Good win for DD. Puss poor performance from AJ. For me, at this point, AJ and Dubois are the same. Both dangerous but, which one will turn up on the night? The one stopped by a Joyce jab? The one dropped multiple times by an unremarkable Larena? The one dropped and stopped by Ruiz? We just don't know. DD has shown good form but, nothing that says he could dominate the division. 2:16 Dubois is being held back not Joshua. Dubois's instinct has always been to trade having faith in his power and chin*. In the Joshua fight, you saw a more mature disciplined and skillful Dubois in combination with his fighting spirit. This Dubois is less hard to hit. He lost to Joe Joyce. So he is not unbeatable. But he is a top-tier fighter, no doubt about it. Big win over AJ who was living off past accomplishments rather than looking after busness. If they match up Dubois against Parker, he will most likely end up a winner. A durable big puncher like the African who just beat Anderson should be avoided for now. So good for him. I hope he sets himself up for success.

I used to back him, but honestly, when he gets attacked, he’s like a fish out of water. He’s never going to stand up to guys like Dubois - they’re just too big and strong for him.
