To be specific about the math on rescue hood: it's still worse than wise glasses until level 11, and sp. specs just needs 1 stack every like 3-4 levels to beat rescue hood in healing. If you want an item just for increasing healing, it's not technically useless anymore, but it's still very outclassed.

​@spragels i tested on clef and blissey and on both its worse until level 6(at level 6, both blis and clef, heal the same value on wise and hood) and then it's gets a little better every level. it's not true it's better until level 11

@@lu8897 I don't know about Blissey, it should be similar, but I should've noted in the original post the info from the mathcord was about clefable- but that said, the mathcord has the chart in it's clefairy forum showing the exact numbers, hood alone doesn't beat wise alone until level 12 when hood heals 2992 and wise heals 2976. At level 11, wise heals 2680 and hood heals 2672. What are your numbers, they're definetly far off from matching what the mathcord has rn? At level 6 clefable wise should heal 1374 while hood should heal 1326.

Buffs accumulate overtime. Also no buff is meant to make a pokemon 55% wr but rise or lower slightly, except when a mon has a huge wr.

I think Flareon would actually be a Speedster. Its stats in regular Pokemon are nearly identical to Absol. No, its not fast, but it fills the same hard hitting glass cannon role.

The one compliment I'll give the most recent patches is that it seems like they are finally balancing the entire game vs buffing/nerfing pokemon attack stats They are raising the HP or defense of a lot of mon (which helps balance CC) as well as making crappy items better

Slick Spoon Nerf and Assault Vest Buff both add up to decreasse the effectiveness of Special Attackers, One item is far more common than the other however. I feel like with Rocky Helmet if they're keeping the current design maybe it could make the opponent weaker such as by halving their Attack for a brief moment.

I’ve been messing around with red emblem boosts on certain Pokémon for certain builds, razor leaf Decidueye and ice shard Glaceon for example, so this might be an interesting change or hardly anything new. The rocky helmet though has to be reworked, there’s no other way around it; the helmet should reflect a portion of damage back to the attacker for physical close range melee moves. So far Garchomp is the only one who can make actual use from it throughout a match, maybe Crustle and Tyranitar but they need to have specific things going on like their unite move or an ambush to make a difference.

It doesn't heal but it does apply a 20% slow for 1.5 seconds, which I didn't realize 😆 I don't use scarf but I do equip X-Attack which makes it great in the laning phase. Really allows me to to surprise others and quickly scale to my powerspikes.

Venusaur effectively utilizes mobility better than auto attacks & raw power to do damage. X attack has become valuable on non stacking strats

Assault Vest was an OK item before Sure it was niche but it was OK but now they buffed it into god tier what in the world 5s down time for 20% max hp shield against SpA ( not counting SpD and HP buffs ) is... incredibly insane I would say this is actually supposed to bring Special Attackers down a bit since they have been buffing a LOT of them recently like Espeon, Glaceon, Gengar, Pikachu, Darkrai, Gardevoir, A9 etc. Also I feel like the way most mons scale in the game... slick spoon would have to be like 12% SpD ignore ish to balance the damage with other SpA items... but don't forget that Spoon and Choice Specs even though they both win against Wise in the damage department most of the time, there are mons that need the SpA stat to do things like healing or shielding so Wise and SpAcs are in that way more versatile.

Definitely a patch targeting special attackers. Nice that Assault Vest is entirely worth considering. Guessing it'll be a slow adoption. Spoon probably needs to be lowered enough to where you would mainly pick it if you're trying to be better against tanky pokemon, specifically like Defenders. Hopefully this patch can eventually lead to less Attackers per team.

These changes don't make you change which item you use it just nerfs or buffs pokemon that were already using them. Except Assault Vest and Rescue Hood might be enough if people were on the fence about them or it's Draft Pick. Luckily, I already build Rescue Hood on Eldegod.

This patch seems mostly targeted at special attackers to nerf their damage. Spoon needs to be at a level to where you mostly take it in order to be more effective against stuff with high defenses like Defenders. Assault Vest is seriously worth considering more than ever in situations where you want to counter special attack damage coming from the other team. The Zeraora buff will definitely make it a SoloQ monster but I'm a little concerned the Spark/Discharge moveset might be busted now. To be fair though, maybe that'll just be in SoloQ? And one of its best items with Discharge, Weakness Policy, was nerfed so that may balance things out.

I had a perfect test case for assault vest today. Had a draft game, I chose slowbro amd the opposite team chose all special attackers. I swapped resonant guard for assault vest. The game was pretty one sided, wasnt ko'd once. AV actually might ne a solid choice now

they did half the damage changes on dark pulse..it was 100+100% buffed in emergency patch..and noe 25% nerf means its at 150% ryt now which is half of the 100% buff they gave us before...so ill say dark pulse is balanced now..nasty plot nerf will be enough to bring it back in line ..probably a 20% damage nerf on boosted and nasty plot damage and cooldown increase on nasty plot for like half sec

... Rocky Helmet's concept is just whack it needs a rework the item literally doesn't make sense. Like it looks like it wants to be on bulky mons but 10% max hp in a single hit is actually a lot more than you'd think because most moves actually deal multiple instances of damage... which means on a really bulky defender it would almost never proc except against hard hitting single instance dmg... and most of them are either poke damage type like Deci and Inteleon or one tap nukes like Absol. Then if you tried to put it on a squishy mon, you're almost always gonna get it to proc but it's almost never going to be in the front line so the damage it deals is not only just terrible but doesn't hit anyone except enemy divers for like almost the entire game.

The devs just forgot how they scaled moves while creating this item. Healing and shield affects scale more from attack or sp.attack stat than from flat increases and levels. Therefore increasing raw stats not only gives you increased damage but significant increase in healing and shields too. Why then create an item that increases ally heal and shield by a sub par amount ? For example, fully stacked umbreon roughly gains 30% more attack at Lv12 which gives it more damage and 16% more healing for yourself or ally compared to 14% more healing just on ally using rescue hood.
