You’re 100% correct on the ECO mode, I’ve been driving in ECO almost since the day I purchased it, way smoother.

The new Land Cruiser Premium is absolutely outstanding. It is a cross between high end Land Cruiser luxury and ruggedness. They are expensive , however, they is synonymous with Land Cruiset. That 1958 you tested, is very basic. Designed for off tossing and utility. The Premium adds the luxury elements inside and outside.

I've been waiting to see how this car is tested in the snow. Thank you for sharing this! I must mention it does take a while for the engine to warm up from a cold start in cold weather. The remote start feature does help with that.

Have watched most of the reviews on KZbin regarding the ‘24 LC 1958. It has many nice features, and the styling and design are wonderful. Yes it’s a lot of money, but competitors are more $ and have other negatives. The retro look is endearing, and the driving experience is just tremendous. The end result of the design of any vehicle is a compromise. Toyota has done an admirable job IMHO. I have had a 2000 LC and three 4Runners. I love this 1958 and anticipate driving my new 1958.

Just so you know, the Honda passport makes the land cruiser a joke, and I have a 4runner and I would not even trade my runner for this thing. the material on it is very cheap, including the front that has all the plastic on it and it has a horn on it thats the sound of a Corolla but hey, let’s spend 50k for a nameplate. They are riding the nameplate so hard you guys are being suckered into this over priced vehicle.. 🙈

Could have just bought used full size real land cruiser diesel half the price. My dad had one from work, he went with that truck everywhere, simple, cheap yet powerful and reliable.

Did as good (better on the hardest trail) as a modded 80 series that had a two inch lift and 33’s on TFL. Oh and did I mention the 1958 was on street tires? The hardest trail the 80 couldn’t even make it up. But it’s not a real Land Cruiser 😂

Yeah, the quality is very low. I kind of slapped my face for a minute thinking am I gonna really trade my 4runner for this little thing? 🙈 The horn on it has the sound of an economy vehicle as it is. NO THANKS ✋😂 oh, and bragging about it did on the trail is what any all-wheel-drive vehicle could do so no it’s not that impressive.

@@Anomize23hmm off-roading’s a major reason why people buy land cruisers so ya bragging that it did better than an 80 series (majority of the LC fanboys consider this the best 4wd Toyotas had in the states) is a massive deal. If the horns your major concern for not buying this I think you need to go back to driving school because you’re doing something wrong there my guy. All Land cruisers are awd so I don’t know what relevance you’re trying to bring up there either. The fact you didn’t know that is kinda embarrassing.

Yes, all they had to do was add hybrid over V6. But no, they had to turbocharge it and downsize to inline-4. Why? The 4 cylinder is going to sound worse and worse as it ages.

I think they think that would take too much into the GX550 sales. Which is close to what you're mentioning. I totally agree though, not sure 4cyl was the right call here..

@@EatSleepDrive Toyota knew a V6 hybrid is what everyone wanted. So, they decided to sell everything but the middle ground. Twin-turbo V6 is nice, but I can get that in Ford 2.7 which is I think a better engine in terms of design and durability. If Toyota had V6 hybrid which had better MPG than a twin turbo and similar power figures, there is no doubt the hybrid would be the choice for many. I don't know, these Japanese companies like to hold their card until sales plateau.

Toyota only sold the top top luxury trim LC200 In the U.S. as other markets. had and have more utilitarian models .1958 more back to its roots basic utility model like to see painted steel rims under $60k with no to few opts

Engine failures? none folding space and battery in the storage areas, .... Nope! Here in Australia, ... I was looking forward to this release, .. however, it's a none starter for me. I think that Toyota lost the plot as a serious off-road vehicle. 2/10

Nooo! Lol 4WD and AWD are 2 VERY different systems. 4WD can power all 4 wheels simultaneously and has a center differential. It is not "whatever you want to call it" 😂 I have the GX550 and still not sold on this heavy 4x4 with a turbo 4 cylinder. Good review, thanks! 😊

Materials on it is for sure very cheap that you would find on a economy vehicle. Even the horn comes from a small economy vehicle so It’s very hard to take this little thing serious😂
