Not sure if you picked up on it but the throttle cable pulley is actually a cam profile. You can get different profiles to give differing rates of opening for a given movement. Road cars have a gentle start to give easy low speed endings control whereas race cars go to full throttle pretty quickly. Changing the cam profile really changes the drivability and the response to input rate of the engine. Quite a cool area to experiment with guys.

Just completed a k24a2 swap into an s2000 and it is interesting to see the similarities/differences between what we did and what you guys are doing. Keep up the great content!

Spare the rod, PT! Spare the rod! Love the progress with the K-Swap. Thank you for your content, after buying an S2000 recently your old videos and website content have assisted me.

You guys need to join the k swap s2000 facebook group. You'll probably be able to get more information and more option for products and any preventative modification for track use.

Thank you for this build and all of the amazing content you are making here. That throttle position sensor, or whatever it is called, just pig-tail it with leads and get the stock/OEM harness connector to go in to your extension/pig-tail. You can skip the whole grinding off things and not make the OEM connector fit where "they" intended it to fit. You can fill your soldered pig-tail with silicon sealer or grease... Otherwise bang up job my northern brethren!

This build is so great. Its even greater that you guys are documenting most of it. Hopefully I can duplicate this on my own 240sx some day.

Hey Guys, nice work, the tubing will be plenty, you are not building a crane! ;) You might aswell try to rotate the TPS 180° instead of chopping the bracket in front of it!!

Have you thought about potting that TPS and running a pigtail connector. Saves grinding anymore of that bracket.
@mrthesquid6 жыл бұрын
So you know a bike shop could make you a new throttle cable. Would be a much better option than having it in a loop. Less fear of having the throttle bind and get stuck at WOT.

im about 4 years late... but w/e i had this same cable length issue on my F20c swapped '85 rx7. you can FLIP the bracket that holds the throttle cable on the plenum to change where the adjusters sit / snug up to, rather than putting an SR tb linkage on it i cant speak for 240sx cable length but i just did this in my K swapped ae86 as well. hopefully this comment saves someone a headache

You made the shift extension like you would a steering column extension, a bit over kill with the drilled holes and extra welds but it won't hurt, it was just a bit of time, gas and wire any way. Good job so far and interesting to see a engine swap start to finish. You should reach out to B is for Build and his 240z/M5 project.... he needs some help from you!
