I watched her whole testimony, which was consistent and included things she could have lied about so she appeared very genuine. If she's really guilty she better head to Hollywood, she'd be the greatest actress ever. The jury got it right and found her not guilty.

So many questions! I wonder what she sounded like on the 911 call? What does his family think of the result of this case? I feel like she was probably "buzzed driving", and maybe tapped him, not realizing how bad she struck him. Maybe she thought he could stand up, but he was too drunk to get up? Did they perform any kind of toxicology on her even though it was hours later? Excellent observations to ponder Dr. Grande.

you can hear the 911 call, it was part of the trial so it's online .. her husband was obviously quite dead when she found him in the snowbank so she didn't attempt cpr (even the emergency people that responded didn't if I remember the testimony correctly) .. as far as drinking goes, heavy steady drinkers, they even owned a party bus (I'm not criticizing them, just explaining the lifestyle) edit: no blood alc for her but yes on him, he was drunk, the levels were part of the ME testimony, she admitted to being quite drunk and avoiding the police on the road because she would have a DUI - hope this helps

Small correction: When they got home, Mark went inside to put her wedding ring in their safe and Lori went in after him to quickly grab her contact case and glasses from the bathroom. Lori got back in the truck and Mark ran out to get his stuff. That’s according to her testimony anyway. I do think it’s plausible that she couldn’t see very well in that truck because it was so high up and probably didn’t adjust the seat. She hardly ever drove it and couldn’t find the lock button. Given the snow piles along their driveway and how quick she hit the gas, the wheels may have spun and she thought she was hitting snow. Especially since she was likely intoxicated and in a fight or flight state.

In my experience, as a 6'6" person, we get picked out much like racial minorities as "potential for trouble" so what you see as "pure danger" I see as "implicit bias" against someone based on appearance. It's a person's mind that is dangerous or not, without the brain, ain't nothing happening at all.

I judge completely by his actions and mental states during those violent moments that warrant him as a dangerous person. I would not spread bias based on female or male's physical features and differences. As someone who was in a violent relationship, she probably was just in get the hell away mode and probably didn't think she actually hurt him badly when she struck him. Plus, knowing he was also going to be mad that she was trying to leave and hit him (when he was already being violent) probably made her scared to stay and even check. If she was also intoxicated, that probably didn't help. I think the jury made the right decision as well.

This case should have never gone to trial. It's clearly a case of a battered, choked, & terrified woman trying to escape her drunk & homicidal husband. Lori accidentally ran over him while trying to save her own life. I was in a similar situation with my alcoholic ex- husband. He choked me so hard that his entire palm print, including his fingers, left bruises on my neck. My boss saw this black & blue handprint on my neck the next morning at work & intervened.

This was almost the perfect storm. Something awful was going to happen that night, considering all of the alcohol consumed. Mark seemed to be an angry drunk and I know how that is. My mother was one. They're Jekyll and Hyde. Lori was afraid that Mark was finally really going to hurt her. Her fear was all-consuming. If she hadn't been so afraid of Mark, to the point of panicking & needing to get away, Mark would still be alive. He was 240 lbs & quite a bit taller than her. He was raging that night, accusing her of wanting to sleep with another man. Had she not been so afraid, she wouldn't have sped away from the house and stayed away. And Mark would still be alive.

If she lied about running into her husband, and she was intoxicated, then those point to her guilt. The fact that she didn't move her husband to see if he was okay is also suspicious. How drunk was she? Could he have been saved? What was the police history of his violent behavior, not just her word on the matter? Was a medical exam performed on her to show she was telling the truth about the violence that night? For me, there are more questions than answers. If the police and DA didn't answer any of these questions for the jury, then it's scarcely any wonder she was found not guilty.

The key factor here was that there wasn't evidence that 1) she ran over her husband on purpose and 2) that she even knew she had run him over. The abuse wouldn't have made much difference to the judgement of most of the jurors. There was reasonable doubt because she could have run him over by accident and thought she just hit a snow bank, then not seen his body because of the snow. None of that has anything to do with her husband hitting her.

Her instincts were not to die herself. When in a life or death situation many of us almost blackout and do not recall details or notice something even as what others may say is very noticeable. Fight, flight, freeze are real reactions which can include a moment of the brain not focusing on ANYTHING other than safety.

There was much more exculpatory evidence in this case than Dr. Grande gave us. After reviewing all of the evidence, the jury reached the only reasonable conclusion that could be reached: Not guilty. You can review it all for yourself, and you should see what Dr. Grande concluded: the prosecution had a snowball's chance in hell.

If Lori accidentally knocked her husband down and ran over him due to his erratic behavior she still had an obligation to call for help immediately. By the time she did her kidneys would have taken care of her blood alcohol and her intoxication difficult to prove. This sounds like a leaving the scene of an accident case. Perhaps if they had charged her with that the verdict would have been different

Well when all is said and done the world is a better place without the Marks of this world. I live with one of these. Flies into a temper over everything and nothing. A narcissist of note and an alcoholic that subjects me to his 2nd hand smoke. Hides his true nature especially to his family that he adores but keeps the worst of his violence and putrid behaviour for me. By the time you read this, I could well die as Laurie almost did.

She should have certainly been acquitted!! What kind of evidence is that!? The truck had fibers from his jeans? How do we know he wasn't hit in the road and stumbled back in to his driveway before collapsing? Or that the gentleman from the bar did not go the mark's home and confront him for choking his wife in public? This whole case is ridiculous with no actual evidence.
