As someone who was there, it was enjoyable and yet clunky. The Undertaker was cool and yet weird. Hogan was getting booed so loudly, someone should've hit the nWo music. I also noticed all the faces winning which was weird to me. And the fact that the crowd was spilt not only between Seth and Punk, but also Jey and Drew. It was cool and enjoyable being there, but they do need a better flow. I think they just tried so hard to fit the old guys and show everyone off ringside, that it at times lacked cohesion.

Short answer No Long answer it had a ton of unnecessary fan service. this episode wasn’t catered to people that have been following the product weekly. It was meant for the general public and people that were familiar with WWE. Like the Rock showing up in his normal character is for all the people unfamiliar with the final boss. I think raw was pretty good as far as the matches went, it set off the premier in a big way, some of the appearances was unnecessary to show off with the celebs imo. I feel they held back in the drew and jey, and Seth and punk. I feel those just set the direction for their paths to mania, jey is probably going to be taken down at rumble, jimmy at chamber, and then Roman and drew at mania. I feel punk and Seth will build and be a main event where either one of them goes in as champion. Rock appearance felt very direct, his passing to Roman felt like he was confirming he isn’t in the plans for this mania his schedule won’t work.

I swear I thought Rock was gonna take that ula fala. John cena winning the rumble and facing Cody at mania does sound nice. Knew Rhea was gonna win. The walk off with taker to me interpreted Rhea being the new big dawg of the yard. A passing of the torch in a way as Taker also said that the ring was his yard and he was the big dawg, hence arm raise on ramp. That jey uso victory shocked me. Built up drew just to tear him down again. I thought Seth was winning because it made more since for the story to continue. That Kevin Owen’s interference needs to be explained. And oh that hogan promo, yea……..

Throughout the match Solo was telling Roman how much he "loved him" (sound familiar?). This is probably Solo's justification of why he did what he did. Roman's failure betrayed all of Solo's hard work, let him down and let the family down. I think the same thing may happen with Jacob/Solo down the line.

Overall, it was solid. Hogan shilling beer and getting boos was amusing. As soon as I saw the T-shirt I was like "Oh he is just here to sell something." Roman vs. Solo was a typical bloodline match with obvious interferences and an obvious outcome. I liked the references Pat made to Solo sounding like Jacob, which could lead somewhere. Drew vs. Jey was interesting, I liked the sneaky pin ending. Rhea vs. Liv was ok. The outcome was what I expected. The match of the night for me was Punk vs. Rollins. It really told a story and had good back and forth action.

I liked the show in terms of a showcase. I think it was clear it wasn't really a show made to create storylines but more to showcase wrestling and their stars and make non-fans interested in the matches. It seems fans or people who have followed wrestling at any point was disappointed. Tbh I got PPV kinda feelings with this show like it felt fast paced and they tried to make an effort in making good matches. But RAW cannot have a runtime of three hours like it's too much for a tv-show. And I think only PPVs should have that long runtime because it feels more exclusive that way.

This should have been the last show on USA instead of the first on Netflix

It was more of a welcome for new fans than a continuation of storylines, but I liked it overall. The undertaker coming out to fist bump Rhea was dumb AF and Hogan getting booed out of the building was a rare misstep for WWE, but it otherwise was good.

I’m not an avid WWE watcher, so maybe my perception is off a lot. But I keep up with the product via various podcasts. I was excited to see how the overall product would look after Triple H’s most recent interview. Here’s my thoughts. Rock no longer being a heel was odd to say the least. Him being there made no sense at all.. both his promo & his pop up after the Roman match was unnecessary. Roman v Solo was okay. Nothing special… It seems that a normal Roman 1v1 match is a bunch of interferences & I’d have to ask a casual fan does that excite you still knowing it’s a match with little side matches going on with the same characters? Anyway, Rhea v Liv was okay. If Rhea’s finisher is the RipTide then there’s no way that lil girl Liv should’ve kicked out of it after she delivered it a first time… Overall though the Match was solid. The Dominick angle at the end was meh. And even though I love Taker, I felt it was unnecessary and forced to put him in this moment. Ngl I skipped Jey vs McIntyre but I came towards the end and it looked WEAK. So I would say completely skippable there Hogan showing up was hilarious. I think next time the WWE fans will cheer him Will be when it’s time to honor him after his death (unfortunately, depending on your opinion on him) Punk v Seth was mid imo. There’s no reason Seth should HIT punk with 5 FINISHERS & He kicks out pretty much EACH TIME. And the ending seemed very sloppy. Overall I was disappointed as a returning fan with a bit of knowledge on the product *EDIT* The entire beginning BEFORE The Rock was a great way to open the show.
