Every gem type, excluding the Diamonds, is voiced by the same voice actress/actor. All Pearls are voiced by Deedee Magno Hall, all rubies are voiced by Charlyne Amanda Yi, every Amethyst is voiced by Michaela Dietz, etc.

I love how they get to flex their voice acting chops with this storytelling choice It’s like different people are talking out of the same vocal chords if you know what I mean, so they sound like a different person even though they’re the same voice. There are episodes where three to six or more characters are all voiced by the same person and they all manage to feel similar but distinct, it’s really an impressive feat of acting, a lot like shows where someone gets possessed or whatever and their voice actor has to sound like character A talking through character B’s mouth. It’s really neat and a cool acting exercise

It’s cool you noticed the diamond chords Each of the diamonds has a chord that plays when they’re onscreen or being discussed. They’re major 7th chords which have a really eerie and unearthly quality to them, especially when they’re sustained on a synth-like sound like they are here. Sometimes they also foreshadow when one is about to appear, like when Steven was dreaming about Blue Diamond at the beginning of the zoo arc, so maybe keep an ear out for em in the future

I feel like the destabilizers and gem wands are inspired by Yellow and Blue Diamond’s powers. Yellow can effortlessly poof gems like that destabilizer did to Garnet back Season 1. While Blue Diamond didn’t immobilize anyone with her blue aura, but it makes all gems in the vicinity cry as much as Blue herself. You’ll remember when Greg and Steven visited Pink Diamond’s palanquin in Korea, the closer he got to a mourning Blue, the more he cried. I suppose the connotation is that grief can be petrifying, intense enough to stop us in our tracks.

As someone who doesnt own cable anymore, ur uploads are my weekly tv shows lol Alsp, all gems of the same type have the same va. All rubies are voiced by the same person, all pearls have the same va, etc. And most cross gem fusions are voiced by musicians

I LOVE these two episodes portrayals of Homeworld gems. These gems are all acting within the system that Homeworld expects. Topaz could have left, been a crystal gem, but conformed to Aquamarine's reminder of Homeworld's standard. Blue Zircon following orders to fulfill her purpose to defend a traitor. Even Yellow and Blue diamond are acting as expected of them. All in a way that seems foreign to Steven, and perhaps suspicious to the audience. It's really cool to me! Sputnik asking the real questions tho. Where IS White Diamond? And Indi I 100% agree the Diamonds look *great* this ep
