So, when we use "Did" means the action is 100% impossible to do in this moment because is 100% past? In sentence with "Did" we can not use "have" but in sentence with "have" we can use "did"? Imagine is the morning, we don´t have breakfast yet, we can ask "Have you had breakfast?" (because still is possible to do it) but we can ask in the same context "did you have breakfast" if still is possible to it?
@TeacherMikeEnglish Жыл бұрын
Many native speakers would use "did you" but "have you" is grammatically a better choice.

Thanks . If i want to speak a bout historical events or story which tense is sutible ?
@TeacherMikeEnglish Жыл бұрын
You will probably use past tense more often if you are simply telling a story about the past. However, if you are relating things to the present, then you will also use present perfect.

Those questions or those tenses? Just apply the same idea. Is it something that you think should be 100% in the past, or is it something that you think might still happen.

Hate to do this to you, but what about "ate"?
@TeacherMikeEnglish Жыл бұрын
You wouldn't use it in a question because it is the past tense form of the verb "eat", and when we make questions in past tense, we don't use the past tense form of the verb. You would only use it in an answer.
