I worked in Telecommunications construction until I was laid off due to the pandemic. Anyway, my old supervisor would tell us to excavate from one point to another. He would then get mad because we did exactly what he said and said, “You should’ve done more.” Some people got fired for it. You gave them clear instructions and you say it was a miscommunication and it’s ok…. I’m moving to Wisconsin! I want you as a boss!

It's nice that you have such good comradery within the crew. It really makes the day go by faster if you get along with the people you work with. I was in a plumbing crew one time in my earlier days where everybody hated each other and worked in silence, no radio or nothing all day everyday. It was the most miserable working experience of my life. Then shortly after that I got in with a crew where everybody meshed together like your crew and it was the best working experience of my life. It makes a massive difference to morale and work ethic and it's nice to see it on display here because it's quite rare to see. A lot of old, angry, miserable SoB's in the trades.
