All of this could have been done more carefully. I find it odd that your compassionate and courteous personality doesn't extend to feeling a responsibility for the health and well-being of your employees when it comes to covid - I assume this is an ideological issue for you that is difficult to entertain, but you should really think about being more open-minded when it comes to health protocols and what the safest options are when something like covid is involved. My coworker always showed up to work an hour early everyday, for 6 years, never took a day off. One day he never showed up to work and never called in. My boss didn't even care to call or check on him. I took an hour leave to my coworkers house. His car and wife's car in drive way. I knocked many times no answer, this is unlike them. So I called the police and reported welfare check, but I saw their dog in one of the windows unresponsive. immediately I broke in, and the house was hot, and I immediately opened all windows as I proceed to their bed room, they were in bed unresponsive. After trip to ER, I took them home. luckily they survived carbon monoxide poisoning. It's scary as hell to think something could kill you in your sleep like that easily.
