Did You Know In SILENT HILL: REVELATIONS…

The scenes where the goldfish appear to be dead were actually real goldfish. They were laced in special water that was prepared to make them fall asleep before filming. Also, the costume for Pyramid Head was actually blended at Roberto Campanella’s wrists which made it a lot easier to put on than it was in the first film. In this film, it only took 25 minutes to prepare for each scene, but in the first film, it took three hours to put Pyramid Head’s costume on. Also, Carrie Anne Moss committed to her character so much that she shaved her eyebrows off so her expressions were harder to read. This was done to mimic that of her character in the game.

I could write an essay on just how stupid it is that Pyramid Head is in the first live action Silent Hill film (of course based on the plot of the first game) and Revelations (which is based on the plot of the third game) when he actually only exists by way of plot in the second game. People who know that games will agree that its far stupidier than just "they got the lore wrong," or "they put the franchise mascot in the wrong story." Pyramid Head only exists because of the guilt of the protagonist in the second game. That is why Pyramid Head is even a thing. Dude was designed from the ground up for that purpose. Like most things in the live action movies based on games they pick and choose what they want from each game without knowing why something was where it was in the first place. I guess I should expect such stupidity from a film series that gender swapped the protagonist in the first movie from male to female because a dude being scared of Silent Hill was "too feminine," which as a guy myself I find to be the funniest instance of 2006 era toxic masculinity. "Ok so boys don't cry and men can't possibly be afraid of a nightmare town that preys on your pysche in cruel, unimaginable ways." Like really, dude? Its pretty scary to me.

Revelation on the other hand was just too much like an action movie to me and didn't have the unsettling atmosphere that the first movie did. I loved all the actors in Revelation and thought they portrayed their characters well, but the director just didn't make it scary and unsettling which is what Silent Hill is all about.

I really do love the first movie, it had that classic unsettling and empty daytime atmosphere and the horrific and Brutal night time terror of the Alterworld. They nailed the set design and the horror and the monster and scene design and even the direction was really good. I didn't really like thr Sean Bean scenes too much but I feel that added in a nice reprieve and form of character for both of them that makes the eventual end sacrifice have meaning. Its not perfect by any means and is very different from the first game thematically and I'm characters too but it's still a Silent Hill movie that is just another story in the long and cursed town of Silent Hill. People cared for that movie and tried. The Third movie on the other hand isn't a Silent Hill movie. It has nothing to do with it other than the bad place being called Silent Hill, Heather/Alessa being there and the Pyramid Head cameo at the end. It's a meh action thriller movie with basic CGI and average direction. I wouldn't call it awful and terrible but it's definitely not good at all. Of course this is my opinion but I'm using actual things from the movies to help elevate my points, they still can be enjoyed and if you enjoyed them then that's perfectly fine and really good because you can find enjoyment in something that many others cannot. It's a unique opinion for a unique person and you can always be free to enjoy what you want so long as you don't hurt others or try to force your opinions onto others.

Pyramid head was originally the embodiment of James sexual frustrations 💀 he kills those in silent hill, both the living and the monsters. Some even theorize that he is forcing himself onto a mannequin monster the first time he is ever seen. I actually really enjoyed these movies. Could they have been better? Absolutely! Everything has the capability of being better. My only gripe with them was the inclusion of Pyramid Head. He was the manifestation of James Sunderland's guilt and wish to be punished for his wife's death. James wasn't in these movies so Pyramid Head shouldn't have been either. I get it though. Pyramid Head is one of the most iconic Silent Hill demons so they felt he had to be in it anyways even though lore wise it makes no sense.
