Same here, I work in acute medicine (so basically all the gross contagious shit right?). My hands get scrubbed to the point of bleeding sometimes, my phone gets alco wiped multiple times a shift and at least once a day at home, my washing machine gets puts through a cleaning cycle with a bit of bleach once a month, I don't have a dishwasher, and whenever I get flaky skin I start washing in nizoral and it usually clears up. Humans are pretty damn gross, even the not so grotty ones

I used to repair cash teller recyclers at 2 of the major banks in Australia, basically it was a smart safe that would sort money and would sit in between two bank employees which would eliminate the unfriendly looking protective shields beteween the teller and the customer. a majority of the problems with these machines had was just being unclean and wear and tear. I used to pull out a brand new clean rag to clean these thing with methylated spirits, and it would be about half a bottle and 4-6 rags before it was clean. money is f**king disgusting.

Well, it depends. From a microbial standpoint? I'd say it honestly doesn't matter. From a general health and wellness standpoint? I'd favor paper towels as air dryers dry out your skin more, which leads to cracking and damage which arguably makes you even more susceptible to infection

Yes they do. Wet hands touch the surface of the dryer thus spreading bacteria. Also when the water drips down, another bacterial spread. Once it's all there, the next person comes and it starts blowing everywhere. The biggest issue is that someone eventually will touch the blower. If they didn't, it would be a whole lot better.

It’s absolutely true. Between cold sores on lips, & the ones you can get on your junk, almost everyone has the herp. It sucks, but it’s also (usually) not as bad as what you were probably told in sex-Ed. The initial infection & first few years are the worst, but once the body adapts, the outbreaks of sores lessens. Most people who carry the virus get it (cold sores) young from their parents like Tugg said, & by the time they’re adults outbreaks are rare. There are also people who carry the virus but don’t get visible outbreaks at all… which is one reason why it’s spread to others so easily/without knowing it. Usually stress or a compromised immune system is what causes a flare. Just don’t touch it (or other ppl) bc it can spread to other parts of the body. Luckily there’s been medications to manage it for decades now… though there is no cure (yet) Your best protection if you’re in the minority & don’t have it, is to always use barriers during sex-even oral- *especially* with new partners until you can guarantee they’re also negative) & regular testing. (There are antibody tests, but they aren’t as reliable as getting a skin swab on any cuts/sores/lesions/“pimples” you may suspect could be an infection. But even still, if you end up with someone that does have it, if you’re careful & avoid sex/touching any sores during a flare, you can avoid transmission. Sorry for the long infodump. I was a public health worker and when I see stuff like this I try to share what I know bc there’s so much fearmongering and stigma towards sexual health and STIs. If you want to learn more, look up the “herpes viruses association” (sorry can’t post link)

I am glad here apartments and houses built bathrooms and toilet rooms separately like do you just shower while someone is in the room peeing? Weird

Eh ya that would be really weird so no, you still give the person privacy to shower or use the toilet. Would you go in to your toilet room to wash your hands while someone is on the toilet??

I work in a bank. In one of my roles many years ago I dealt and counted large amounts of cash. I never got sick for the 2 years I had that job. I eventually moved onto a different role in an office not dealing with cash and I was sick for about 6 months. My point being I'm pretty sure I was getting immunity from the germs on the cash. And yeah, cash is disgusting.
