I bought the Pelt because of this very video and it pretty much replaced every other fuzz I had. It is truly a hidden gem, hiding in plain sight. So many good tones in it and paired with an overdrive or an overdriven amp it is pure heaven. Thanks for helping me discover this monster of a pedal!

Thanks Chris, as a player for ~ 45 years, I'm still learning from you. Considering the tonal challenge of fuzz, your hybrid picking also reduces the sharp edge of the fuzz by avoiding jarring pick attack. Really nice example of sonic construction on a basic level.

Chris I watched this video some months ago and pulled the trigger on one of these... I have to say you were totally right. I just received and tested one of these. Nice plethora of sounds, fuzz pedals normally dont find a place in my chain but this one definitively will. I agreed with you (not remembering what you said in this video) that the bloom control is what makes this one stand out. The 3 way mid switch was also useful. Thanks for the recommendation.

Around 1970 I purchased, at Wallich's Music City in Hollywood, a used Gibson fuzz tone pedal. I used it through a Sunn bass top and old Vox cab with two Celestion 12s. My axe was a Gibson double cutaway cherry finish Melody Maker. My mate Roger Linn created a double coil for my lead pickup.

Hey Chris .. always a pleasure to hear you play .. Many Many years ago I was told by a ' Gaggle ' (? ) of up & coming wannabe Punk musicians ( & it was not meant as a compliment ) that no matter what guitar or amp I had to play thru' You always sound the same man " lol .. I took it as a compliment & when I say to you that you have a Sound of your own I mean it as a compliment .. for me it is more about Note choices & good taste as subjective as that is .. & I think you have that .. Gr8 Tone is also a lot to do with the hands & intention .. being partly disabled & not getting out much I have not played live for a while or even been to a gig .. so it is an extra joy to see & hear you play .. Keep up the good work & all the best in you career & have a Gr8 life .. Cheers from an old Muso .. I am still noodling & still dreaming lol

Brilliant Chris, back in the 80's the fuzz face was getting so expensive I found a "practical wireless" magazine which had the fuzz face wiring diagram in so I made it with the Romania Transmitter & WOW IT WORKED, still works today, all these stomp boxes are just a ripoff all the components are so cheap and you can easily make them your self. Great channel Chris.👍

The mention/reference of/to ripping velcro took me back to the mid 60s when fuzz was pretty much all we had, and during guitar overdubs we would sometimes overdub tearing duct tape lengthwise into a mic to fatten up power chords at critical accents in a mix. It can be very beefy sounding if sunk into the blend just right.

I'm a huge fan of the two Fender fuzzes from this line: Pelt and Trapper. The Pelt is my kind of "character fuzz" it doesn't really sound like anything else on my board. The Trapper is an all-out incredible octave fuzz with two different crushing fuzz circuits and a built-in gate; like a Big Muff on steroids with granular control. I don't know why these pedals aren't more popular; they sound absolutely fantastic!

I grabbed a Fender Energizer Boost to go with a 2-fer sale they ran through most of 2022. My expectations were nothing, but it's really really useful. Sounds great. I run it at the end of my board to set the eq & volume the board gives the amp. The brushed aluminum feels really solid & looks beautiful. The lights on the knobs are useful and cool. It's weird how (lack of) coolness perception dominates perspective on them.

What's really interesting about the Pelt circuit is that while the transistors are Silicon (and in fact, very common, ordinary 2N4401 parts), this is _not_ a "Silicon" fuzz. The reason I say that is because when people say "Silicon" or "Germanium" related to a fuzz, they're generally talking about Fuzz Face or Tone Bender or something like that. The Pelt has its two Si transistors in series, but not in the typical voltage feedback biasing scheme of a Fuzz Face. They are just in series and somewhat independent. The fuzz sound comes from the transistors being in pretty low voltage bias to have them be semi-gated. It's a cool and original circuit.

Worth area I have something I would like for you to have. I do some custom guitar builds, and the finish is IMHO, super nice and unique. I have some strat style builds, and some Tele style builds and I would like for you to take your pick. No obligations on your part, and I don't build enough of them to be a major player in the guitar business. I just see you as a genuinely nice person, and I would like to bless you with the product of my labors. And if you think I am being fruity and choose not to accept, it won't hurt my feelings (much😭).
