Since this assault happened two decades ago, at that time, not many people dared to speak up, especially since their careers were on the line. Trust me. It takes a courageous individual to speak up in situations like that. Moreover, we are fortunate today to live in a social media era where people can market themselves through their various talents, be their own bosses, and be self-employed without necessarily relying on big producers, directors, agents, etc., to get a job. The digital era has created a community where people can speak up and have evidence and backup. It was not like that back then because someone technically owned you and your truth. I can't imagine being in such a vulnerable situation.

Why are we continued to be surprised, by accusations related to Diddy. You can goggle or check court regards to lawsuit filed against Diddy and settled. Civil suits are public records unless otherwise specified by court when settling a civil suit. While Diddy didn't have to mention Cassie by name in his self servicing apology. Diddy could have said" there is a young lady whom I had a previous relationship with. I didn't treat her well and I owe her an apology. My own ignorance and arrogance allowed me to do and say things that don't align with my own personal values and views. I hurt this young lady physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I sought help through therapy and rehab. Buts is obvious that there is more work that needs to be done. But, let me be clear I owe this young lady an apology and at no time was she responsible for my actions ". That's how you apologize and take ownership of your responsibility. As well as specifically stating that you will be entering therapy and substance abuse program as one has fell short. But, when you are a narcissist and megalomaniac like Diddy " you see no other person but yourself ".
