I just realized: You can make the same signal with MACD. Change the settings of a MACD indicator: Fast Length = MA2, Slow Length = MA3, Oscillator MA = SMA, remove Signal line and Histogram. Voilà, a line that crosses at the same locations and is not inverted. Thank you mr VP for a new found respect for the MACD indicator.

Or switch MA2 to a larger number than MA3, it gives the Didi with the "correct" direction

@@ronimatos90 Maths work out the same indeed. I was just surprised about the link with MACD. Crossovers of two MAs (SMA in this case) for C1/C2 signal. Can life be really that simple.

Thankyou VP. It's amazing when you switch the settings MA1 to 14 and MA3 to 3. Gives a very nice directional bias as a secondary confirmation indicator.

I keep the settings and scratch the fast MA and have used a cloud above and below zero line. Red above zero. Green below zero.

Thanks for introducing me to the didi index. Had a play around with a version of it on tradingview and changed the settings as you mentioned. It made more sense to me to flip the slow didi, so it points up in an uptrend. I kept the fast didi on regular ie not flipped and it compliments the slow didi, prewarning of trend switch and showing pullbacks in the trend. Thanks a million.

Hallo VP, put DIDI Index to my MT4 and changed colors as you told us, later on I've recognized that blue color was shown in the first row and red one in the second one, so in my box the blue one is definitly the faster line, and the red one is the slow line, so I had to delete the blue line, no matter. Changed settings on MA 2 to 10 too and compared it with CMF 18, nearly the same but inverse , and CMF gives me an earlier signal. Best regards an all the best wishes for 2022!

I am grateful for VP's videos. He has given me ways to become even more profitable. However. All these indicator videos are about trend trading. December was good. Now things are at a stand still. A lot of reversals. One can feel there is quite little chance of big movements. At the time of writing (31.12.2021) the GBPJPY has moved 600 pips since 20.12. It is just crazy touching that. A reversal or a consolidation is close. The other pairs have low volatility and a lot of wicks and weak price movements. So what do I mean to say by this? How do we trade in other ways than just trend trading? We risk going through all of January with 0 opportunities. Is it time for VP to give us a range bound strategy?

LOL, I was expecting VP replying as such. I myself felt like giving this a thumbs down but hesitated. To say that we will have zero opportunities up to a full month is simply ridiculous. It clearly indicates that you didn’t do your own research enough or you simply are ignorant and don’t truly understand what is the meaning of a trend. Trends are everywhere my friend. They are happening every second. Consolidations btw are the beginning of a trend. The key is to look for it at a proper timeframe. Just keep in mind that we are not crazy, we are just early.

SSEnrich is crazy smart, but can be a big over-thinker at times. I was too, so I relate. I learned, way later than I should have, is that it's best to just step back and simplify.

@@FarhanFadzli No opportunities for a month might be a little much. I trade the 4 hour. So I don't know how it will be on the daily chart. Obviously there will be fewer opportunities. I saw the CHF is moving now. But overall I experience the markets as very quiet now which is not surprising at all. I have seen this in backtests from previous years. The time between Christmas and New Year will obviously have less participants and the big banks might be all absent for all I know. My comment might be a result of frustration of the market phase that is now, and I know that will happen again. So I am considering to do some sideways trading when markets are quiet. VP says we win by not losing. I understand exactly what he means by it. You do not have to trade every day, not even every week. I guess I am just looking for a little more action. Lower time frames is of course an option.

I think I can help the newer subscribers a bit. Since the DiDi index is moving in the opposite direction of the price, I'm sure there are young traders who are confused because they don't have the necessary training yet. Let them try 20 EMA and 8 EMA. These two EMAs show exactly when DiDi crosses zero. This is the essence of DiDi as an oscillator! Twick the two EMAs 20 and 8 😉 and as the VP says "Go get it!" P.S. If someone decides to play with the settings, they will get MACD! 🤫🤫🤫🤫😁😁😁

Different in MT5 and each of the lines has two different colours and the medium moving line is the zero cross

Didi Index is my main Indicator. I use the Fast line and the mean line. I also tweaked all 3 mvg. Managed to get a 55% accuracy with 500 samples over 5 different currencies. Unfortunately the demo account lost 30% over a 3 month period. Im going to build another algo next year and try again.

Thanks VP. Glad to see a new video. I spent very long time backtesting and at the end found something weird. It was so weird that changed the whole system. Only one indicator which works very well on crypto metals indices and several stocks. If it is combined with anything else it produces lower winning rate. I am not gonna say the name of the indicator and how to use it I am currently in the forward test phase. Do you think this is possible? Am I doing something wrong? PS: the system is still nnfx in which I enter twice, 1.5 ATR stop loss, and 1 ATR first take profit. The second position keeps running until the same indicator gives opposite signal.

Did an old podcast episode on this. Of course there are. There were pro traders before NNFX existed, what do you think they used? NNFX in our view has a much higher probability of getting you there, but if you can get your MM and psychology right, the TA part matters much less.
