This is not a fake, but an homage. A fake pretends to be something they are not. Don’t buy those. Homage watches can be great options for someone whose budget won’t allow them to spend the dough for the original.

Hi Oleg, Great review. I bought the same watch. I was lucky I guess and don’t have the deficits on the watch face. However, my rotor from the movement became lose within 1 week. This was a simple fix as the case is easily unscrewed and the rotor could be screwed back on. I have been happy with the time of the watch and don’t think it has been off by more than a minute or so after a week. I think you could easily regulate the movement and it could resolve the issue. I have quite hairy wrists and don’t find it pulls on the hairs compared to my SKX jubilee bracelet. I did the water test on the watch face to test for Sapphire glass and it seems to be legit. I think the finish of the watch is very good for the money. However, I think as with most of these watches, it can be hit and miss with the quality. All the best, Ian

Thank you Ian! As you pointed out the quality control on these watches is poor. I think I just got unlucky with some things on mine. But to be honest most of them aren't that big of a deal. Of course, it's a review so I wanted to point out everything that I've noticed. I will most likely regulate the movement because +40 sec/day is too much. I also did the water drop test and it seems that the sapphire crystal is real. Even compared the results with other mineral and sapphire crystals. Overall impressive level of detail and the finishes on the watch. I am surprised that they were able to copy the original so well and still keep the price under $100. All the best, Oleg.

However, I wore it for most of the last 24 hours and it still runs well and keeps good time. I still think it looks great. The bracelet is fantastic. So unique to any other watch. I believe I bought it from the ‘Didun advanced store’ on Aliexpress. I don’t buy much on Aliexpress as again I have other watches. Aliexpress can be hit and miss. I bought a Patek Nautilus homage and its movement is completely crap and doesn’t keep time well. Probably worth a shot if you like the Royal Oak design and don’t want to fork out $20,000 USD. Next best alternative I would consider may be the D1 Milano. They looks great and quartz is super thin. They have sales sometimes so you may get 10-20%+ off. Best of luck with it. Ian

Oleg, you really should give regulating your watches a try, and trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!...lol..there are a bunch of videos on YT here, just type in "regulating a watch", and see which ones you might find most helpful. Mainly just be careful not to get dust, dirt or hair, etc into movement while you have the case back off. Start with your $17 Tevise or something cheap that you won't worry about. And remember, a little goes a long way, move the lever only slightly.

My main concern would be durability and actual life of the watch. Are these going to fall apart after a week or a month? Or will the movement break down if its dropped on the odd occasion? For the price it seems to be a very nice watch. I personally would never by an AP or an PP or a Hublot or anything like that unless I had millions in the bank and even then I would probably just go with a chemin des tourelles squelette by tissot and they are just over 1k sterling. So it seems to me if this watch is durable and wont break down with general usage of a wrist watch, it would be worth the money and some for it's beautiful design. I mean why pay £10 for M&S Beans when you can get them for 35p at tesco, even if the parts aren't the same, the watch is going to tell you the time and look good whilst doing it, no more than what the AP would do....

Nice review. I got mine last week and it looks awesome. The movement is not the same as yours, I don't know what it is but it is does not have the gold rotor. The watch has been on my wrist 4 days and it has 7 sec. off now, That is very good. I asked them today if they could provide another type of strap and yes they have a leather strap. I will order it and see how that works. Yes mine also jumped a bit when I was setting it but not much. I think the screws alignment you are mentioning is maybe because of the bezel not adjusted correctly when mounted. I have the same problem.

reminds me a lil of the Michael Herbelin Hommage of the AP. Not too big a fan of this sort of watches but its done very well. The Seagull Movements are workhorses and reliable, I do have a Seagull Chrono in my collection and am stunned every time what you can get for that small amount of money.

24Hours At A Time, you really should get one seagull Chrono, they do produce really decent pieces there and especially the 1963 has a great vintage Charme to it. I have no idea how you find these watches. I do think that Didun has done an amazing job of copying AP...but, to be honest, I really don't like the design of the Royal Oak. A review on this watch is a long time coming - I only have a written one on Reddit myself - so good job. Regulating this can be tricky, especially with how the beat error lever tends to move with the regulation lever. If you don't have a timegrapher, an app, or even the tg program for PC, it'll be a huge hassle. I regulated mine with tg, and had it average almost 0 sec/day worn and stored dial up in the box at night. However, it will still lose/gain a lot of seconds if it's stationary in one position, as these cheap, low quality movements do tend to be very imprecise.

After demonstrating the "bug" with the movement moving the minute hand when locking down the crown, the hacked seconds hand didn't resume moving at all. I've had that happen several times with a "Peter Lee" Nautlius homage. Does this happen often with this one?

Most likely the same, nondescript Seagull movement. Mine isn't too accurate either, but the design and feel of the watch more than make up for this, and no big-deal adjusting the time by a minute or two once every couple of days (I only regret not having managed to catch the even more cringe-inducingly named Bagelsport version while it was still available... LOL). Oh, and don't beat yourself over the head for having been stung with the MiyoDa movement. Sellers of the Didun on eBay almost got me by even more shamelessly marketing the watch with a MIYO-T-A movement in the item name/heading, then using Miyo-D-a in the (very fine) details. Extremely shifty. Your input on this has been invaluable. Thanks!

Unfortunately, the date window is killing the whole watch, because of the poore execution on the corners. The print on date disc looks crooked, not very refined and it seems, that it's not even correct aligned in the center. But maybe someone is lucky and get's a better example.

Good review! I grabbed one of these recently for a component of a 'fauxly trinity', and I like it for what it is: a one-for-one stylistic copy of the AP for around 0.25% of the price. I don't actually even like the Royal Oak that much. Enough to spend 75 bucks on a cheap copy? Sure. 25-30 grand on a real one, even if I had the disposable cash? Absolutely not. Mine is the chronograph version, but I'm pretty sure the chronograph dials and pushers are just for show and don't actually do anything. That was a slight disappointment, but at the price point I suppose it's not really worth complaining about.

Are you sure it is sapphire glass? On AliExpress it sometimes says hardlex and sometimes sapphire. You can test it by putting a small drop of water on the cleaned crystal, if it forms a compact drop its sapphire, if it forms a flat puddle its hardlex

I did that water drop test and it seems to be sapphire (even compared it to my SKX). I don't have the diamond tester tool to confirm 100%. But I'm about 90% that it's sapphire. All the best, Oleg.

I have a Chinese knock-off of the royal oak chronograph but it is quartz and not sure if they made that in quartz. It keeps good time, but it is heavy, sharp band as well. I forgot the name but think yours is better, I only paid 30.00 so I don't expect much. lol

From my testing it seems like my watch has a sapphire crystal. And a few people in the comments section mentioned that their watches have sapphire crystals as well. But I wouldn't be surprises if some come with a sapphire crystal and some don't. All the best, Oleg.

I suspect movt is seiko vk63 mecaquartz which l am a fan of. But with the msgs l have you them in aliexpress they cant really confirm anything. Even if the crystal is sapphire or not. Just ordered the blue dial chrono. Yes some sellers have totally no idea. Luckily l found one seller that is helpful and even sent me a pic of the mvt. I can confirm it is the seiko vk63 mvt. It is listed as miyoda vk quartz mvt haha.Seller also confirmed it is sapphire. Another seller msg me there are mineral versions too. So better to msg the seller to confirm. Actually quite tempted to get the panda dial but my current seiko mecaquartz ssb003 is already a panda.

Just got my Didun with Seiko mecaquartz vk63 version. Its on my channel. I must say they copied the looks very well. Finishing is great for the price. Sadly even when the seller confirmed to me personally it is sapphire it is not. Failed the most basic water drop and tapping test. Diamond tester is the final nail in the coffin. Even with this when I msg the seller he wont admit saying it is sapphire. Well but for $55 with seiko mecaquartz mvt and overall finish it is worth it even without sapphire.

The movement is unregulated. Thats Bad. I've bought an Invicta pro Diver and IT runs +6 seconds with dial facing up, and +2 seconds when i wear it. Shure, that's pretty good for that price, but 40 seconds is way to much.

Hello to Oleg & Bond! Thanks for a great & thorough review! I actually like this homage quite a bit, despite being a little too similar to the AP. My biggest pet peeve is having only 30m WR, as I prefer at least 50 meters. Plus, the Sea-gull st-6 is actually a pretty decent mvt, and can be regulated to be very accurate. Btw, I've had Seiko 5's off by 40 sec. as well. Finally, a decent finish & mvt, with a nice bracelet & sapphire crystal make it a good deal at that price point. Thanks!

Thank you, my friend. Yes, that 30m water resistance stings. I wish that number was higher. I might try to regulate the movement because 40+sec/day it too much. The watch is off almost 5 minutes in a week. The finishes, sapphire crystal and the decent movement make this a pretty attractive proposition. Al the best, Oleg and Bond.

Great follow up video and your comments at 14.10 says it all. A fine piece of modern engineering on (or off) your wrist for $75 is a no brainier in my book. I went for the quartz version (which was even cheaper) as my experience with cheap Chinese automatic movements is mixed to say the least. FYI my screws and battens line up and I don’t experience the minute hand problem you described. (Although it is a little sloppy). So maybe you were just a little unlucky - as I was with my Tevise purchase. Keep up the reviewing and a Woof woof to Bond. 🍖

I owned the same one for three days then after removing the bracelet I threw it away, reason was on the 3rd day four of the screws on the face fell off, they are fake glued on ones with no threads at all
