@@asimple My grandfather and great grandfather were in the German military both were a Feldwebel and Oberstabsfeldwebel. Berets and helmets were in a lot of cases obligated. Even in a church. The helmet and beret are part of a soldiers identity who protects the country, and then with the knights, god and their cause. Soldiers and knights being honoured or taking an oath etc, is very different than you visitting the church at sunday with an NFL cap.

Difference in battlefield names comes from positions of soldiers. Polish and lithuanian armies were located near Stębark/Tannenberg, and teutonic army was near Grunwald.
