I'm glad you did this one Martin. I have a conveyancer myself which is in pieces and I haven't been looking forward to restore it so far because it seemed quite difficult. Now that I have your video as an example I might give it a try one of these days 😊

This was one of my favourite toys as a lad. My four year old brain was thoroughly amazed by the rear steer--this was the first time I had ever seen such a thing. Anyway, great job my friend!

That one was a bugger, Martin, but if you fancy unscrewing it and doing it again, I have some heavy-duty black cobbler's thread I can send you a length of in an envelope, if you like... great detailing on the engine and a really nice finish. Congratulations!

Excellent job mate, yeh they call them forklifts in Aus too. My duo mate used to drive one of these in GHM in South Australia. One day he had a load of steering columns that weren't packed properly and they fell back on him, the roof protected most of him but unfortunately one hit his arm putting him out of work for a month. We have a gig outside of the local Bunnings hardware store tomorrow under a marquee Thursday afternoon so should be fun. Catch you on the next one mate.👍🏻

Wow, love this one Martin. I was given one of these for my birthday when I was a boy. And because I didn't play with it very much, I actually still have it! It's one of the few survivors from my original childhood toys. I still have the plastic pallet too! Mine has several missing parts but still has half of the roll cage on it. It's worth nothing money wise, but it's worth a lot to me because of sentimental reasons.
@martindaredare4 ай бұрын
That's great you still have it 👍 Don't lose that pallet . All the best Martin

Great vid again,spent nearly 40 years driving Yales and hysters,lansings on scrapyards and foundries, you was lucky if you had a roll cage that wasn't broken and tyres of the same size,brakes were at most a luxury but fun times,17 minutes to get 25 ton of baled srap of lorrys or the gaffer was upset,last place was fun though as besides scrap he also collected militaria so some days I'd be getting tank guns of to restore or pushing sherman hulls about or american armoured cars off a lorry,ended up with some nice bits from the fury film.
@martindaredare4 ай бұрын
Sounds like a great time, I love a good scrap yard, and thay we're definitely better times ,when you actually enjoyed going to work .

This restoration on this type of forklift reminded me of the York, & Clark forklifts that I myself operated, the best ones I operated is the JCB , JohnDeere and CAT, these 3 there were the telescoping arms , shifting lift assembly which was great for tight places when I was working for (SHA)Maryland State Highway Administration , but hey Martin enjoyed the restoration you’ve done on this particular type of forklift, it’s always interesting how the mechanism work in these diecast models. Take care Martin ole buddy , see ya on the next one.👋😎🚒🚚🛻🚙

gee, so many parts... again. :) but it works. ^^ looks nice and shiny again. but Derek remains un-armed and dangerous I guess? ;) as for the floppy mast, I keep thinking that the dashboard-engine hood piece has had a plastic tongue there braking down the mast movement, and of course they are all worn down by now. just me speculating here, of course.

Hey Martin, many thanks for the detailed running commentary, I didn't realise that there were so many parts to this forklift. I just donated the winding handle and roll cage, not the driver. I've really no excuse for not getting mine done now once I've sourced a set of decals. I've not yet mastered making my own. Your model turned out really well, it's fantastic. Did you use the same primer on the plastic parts or did you use a plastic primer? Looking forward to next week's video. Very best wishes. Peter.
@martindaredare4 ай бұрын
Hi Peter the plastic parts I just clean up in the warm soapy Warter, but yes if I paint plastic parts I do use a plastic primer, to be on the save side .you can do this Peter it's not that bad once you get started . All the best Martin

Hello there Martin a very nice job on the forklift. 👌 I've got one but it's is Pretty good all I've got missing is the Winding handle. The odd ones you got are you thinking of doing a code3 a nice red one would be nice just a idea 😁
@martindaredare4 ай бұрын
Cheers Ralph, yes I will definitely be doing a code e with the spar vehicle. All the best Martin

Martin, nice job, silly question, the driver seat that lifts, on the real fork lift is the seat a cut off so will only operate when driver sit on it?

Hi buster, it's quite possible I couldn't be 100%, but health and safety you never know.
