The Vecna reveal is still one of the BEST twists I've ever seen in a TV series. Most people guessed that the orderly was Vecna. A lot of people also guessed he was 001. But NOBODY guessed he was also Henry Creel. It was a threefold twist. Brilliant.

And even though El accidentally created Vecna and the gate, it felt so good to see her kick ass again. And lastly, sprinkled here and there in the background is Running Up That Hill. Interesting theory about why the Upside Down is “frozen in time”: it’s a camera obscura. Let’s say you have a dark room with no light whatsoever but outside this room it’s bright and sunny. If you make a small hole in one of the walls then light from outside will project into this room and since the light is being reflected off objects outside then the light will project an image of the outside into the room, but because of the angles of the light the image will be… upside down. When El opened that first gate back in season 1 it projected an image of Hawkins into this other world creating the Upside Down as we know it.

this is what i’ve been thinking since i watched this season. that everything is frozen in time of the night El opened the gate. makes sense for the bikes too, the ones nancy and co used. cause that was the night the kids were in the basement playing dnd so the bikes were there. what i don’t understand is what happened when El sent One in the upside down? She obviously did it unknowingly so what exactly did she do in this episode? did she just create a ripple? cause we see One getting thrown into whatever this place is, and that place isn’t exactly “nothing” yk? so what is that? is that place like a blank canvas? cause we see like a mirrored place. the hill kind of things when One is thrown into there look mirrored. so is it a blank canvas that is yet to be “painted” (like how el opening the gate in S1 painted it into hawkins)? i’ve been wondering about all that honesty.

Like for real. While I do think Brenner is more complex than people give him credit for, while still being a pretty bad guy, I did not feel sorry for Two in that scene, at all. It was like what 3 or 4 of them vs. El? Like.. there has to be a punishment, and it has to be strict IMO.

If the Upside Down is based on Hawkins of 1983, then presumably anything that was in Hawkins then but has since been removed (like a lot of kit from Hawlins Labs at the ends of seasons 1 and 2) will still be there in the Upside Down. I wonder if that will be important.

I don't think a fear of rabies can really be considered irrational... Your chances of being exposed to rabies may be extremely low, but there's always a chance, and if you do catch rabies the window of time you have before it's a death sentence is pretty small. Sounds like something that is rational to fear. Maybe it's not rational to act on that fear aside from staying away from wild animals, but the fear itself seems pretty rational to me.

I genuinely feel that people reflect their own personal issues onto situations far too much. Yes, the kids are dangerous, Henry Creel being a case in point, but I don't think Brenner's torture of the kids is the right way of going about things. They were bullying Eleven. It wasn't nice to watch at all. But putting a shock collar on a child to get answers doesn't strike me as an appropriate response.

Nearly two hours without the California crew and you didn't even notice. It's because they were the weakest part of the season. I think Argyle is so funny, but there wasn't much purpose to them. I really think Jonathan should have died in S3 when fighting in the hospital. That way part of what these characters can be reeling from is his death. Particularly it would have given Will a cool arch. Him trying to step up and be the protector older brother to El that Jonathan was to him. It would have given Will more of something this season.

I'm sorry ladies, I have to disagree about Papa. It's not all black-and-white, it's gray - darker shade gray, admittedly - but gray nonetheless. First off, I think Papa actually does genuinely care for the children, but he does have a job to do. Also, they are unique children. Children with superhuman abilities. How do you raise children like that? I'm sorry, but it probably should be in a facility. Civil society can't be trusted to train them to use their powers, and it would be dangerous. And Papa punishing with the collar: Number Two deserved punishment for what he did to Eleven; and how else do you punish someone with the ability to kill with just their mind? Two would have continued to bully her, perhaps kill her.

Do I would so be thinking like Robin on the rabies thing lol it's not really an irrational fear bats are like number 3 for rabies and we had a rabid raccoon that was found about 20 minutes from our area I assume it acted weird or attack somebody in order for them to catch it and kill it to test the brain for it to come out positive for rabies so it's not exactly irrational to fear it even though there are the rabies shots if you get them in time to save you but nobody wants to go through that so the fear is not only of the rabies but of having to get those series of shots
