I love this episode. Jonathan finds the boys because of how well he knows and paid attention to his brother, Nancy and Mike relate to each other for possibly the first time ever, Steve turns face, Hopper beats the shit out of more agents. Joyce gives Eleven the first motherly affection she's ever experienced. They just killed it with great character moments in this one.

You are in sync with the fandom. There was a whole hashtag about Justice for Barb that happened because she got killed so unceremoniously when this aired.
@TrentRidley7 ай бұрын
The fact she was there for Nancy, just trying to be a good friend, played a big part in the sense of injustice people felt too I think. I feel like the creators probably didn't expect that to resonate with the audience to the extent that it did which is why her death was written so unceremoniously. I think she was meant to be more or less a throw away character, but they felt the need to make her "disappearance" a more pivotal element of the plot in Season 2 following the audience response to Barb in Season 1..... or I could be wrong and it was all planned that way from the very beginning. 🤷♂

@pannonia774 ай бұрын
Take the experiment when Eleven should have hurt (killed) the cat. She was most uncomfortable, and finally decided not to hurt the cat. Brenner was annoyed and had two guards throw Eleven into the dark room for punishment. But when Eleven killed the two guards, he became a piece of cake, because Eleven proved that she can hurt not cats but people. That was important for him. He did not care for his employees who died because of him.
