Coolest application of a 482 I have ever seen! The packaging is also brilliant. Many of these conversions are nightmares but this is entirely practical. I guess you'd be getting 15- 18 Hp ot of this with the turblo? I was going to use a 482 For a generator but wanted something bigger so it wouldn't have to work as hard. One of those little RB turbos might be the ticket. Awesome Build, well done!

Looks great Tim, you've done a great job on this one. Myself I do prefer the odd pot set up like 3 cylinders to maybe gain a bit more smoothness, if there is such a thing with diesels! Overall a great build, and thanks for sharing your creations with us 🙂👍

In India many own diesel bikes ...the sound is worth appreciating. Kinda vintage beats the diesel engines produce every stroke you can hear. And the clanking sound of teppit makes it more interesting.

The Honda CB250N Super Dream was manufactured between 1979 & 1983. It was a CB400N Super Dream, with a gutless underpowered 249cc engine installed into a heavy frame. At the time, it was the slowest 250cc bike sold in the UK & Europe. Known, in the UK, as the "Wet Dream", "Super Slug" & "Gutless Wonder". It had a 0 to 60 MPH time in excess of 20 seconds. On stock Honda FVQ rear suspension, it's like riding a water bed. Only good point was the engine was very reliable. Bike Magazine described the exhaust sound to be like a muffed fart.

Probably miles, since he used miles pr. galon..
@LESLASLESLAS2 жыл бұрын
@@noahwail2444 he didn’t use miles per gallon. He said “120 to the gallon”. That’s kilometers, for sure. About 75 miles to the gallon.

it's the UK so definitely miles

@@LESLASLESLAS Nope ... we NEVER use kilometers per gallon ... this is a UK gallon not an American gallon ... Google it.

Obviously, it already has vastly increased performance over the original gutless petrol CB250N "Super Slug" engine.

Marvellous! Now there are these dams, you see, jolly hard to get at, well defended and deep inside enemy territory. Well we had this idea, rather wild, I know, but we were thinking, if perhaps you could somehow come up with something that sort of bounces along the water it just might do the trick.......

🤨 - never seen a diesel motorbike, assumed they all were 2-stroke petrol - having small engines
@MrAdopado2 жыл бұрын
Few new motorbikes are 2 stroke nowadays due to emissions. 4 stroke is almost universal. Even an old Honda 50 Cub was 4 stroke.

No diseas-el motorcycle has EVER (in 147 years) ben truly successful. WHY? Too much weight and complexity in the engine and FAR too little net HP output per liter. If Honda is getting 16 HP from 482cc of a NA diesel, they are treading on near miraculous ground! Typically, 20 HP per liter for a NA diesel for say a ship's bilge pump is considered "high performance" or for an Arrow Oil field pump-jack engine that would be exceptional performance. Arrow's produce about 6-8 HP per liter and weight over 1000 pounds and turn 450 RPM. The Russians or Yugoslavs built a "lightweight" high-speed diesel bike back in the late'80's -early '90's, a semi-dirt bike style intended for the military, but too heavy, too complex, too low performance (think BMW RS80 Dakar) but a 700-750 twin.
