I was wondering about this, that truss system looks really minimal. Would there not be issues supporting not only the load of the crane but the load on the crane. Not to mention the inertia generated by the crane going back and forth on the structure.
@BrooksMoses
@BrooksMoses Жыл бұрын
@@JohnNorton86 : Exactly -- that's why the crane is going to have its own supports rather than being tied into the building. Matt mentioned that when he was building the foundation -- there are separate footers in the foundation for the pillars that hold up the crane.

@@IGDZILLA Yep, a friend of mine sided his house , gambrel roof (barn style), with the delta-rib metal. He has invested in the contoured foam sealing strips at all the edges after experiencing yellow-jacket wasps nesting in the walls and ceiling. They eventually chewed through the drywall and started coming through the small holes they created. Behind the ingress holes were huge colonies of those wasps. Nasty lesson learned.

Fixing acoustics and reducing echo: Grab some sheets of rock wool insulation. Wrap em in cotton fabric. Run a fine (2-3mm) wire straight through side to side from the long ends of the sheet. Hang the assemblies in between the trusses in even spacing. This will make so much difference in acoustics and echo reduction.

In my shop I have ceiling fans. They make a big difference in the winter. The heat that rises to the ceiling gets pushed back down and gets rid of any cold spots. The fans are cheap metal fans from my local granger store. It really helps keep the temperature even everywhere in the building and the heat is more efficient when the fans are going.

I recommend full cut off wall packs or area lights. Wall packs have too much glare especially the led, and they throw light every where but where you need it, making them less effective. If you want good lights, look into high pressure sodium. They can be bright but not harsh like LED. LED lighting is great for indoors, and when used correctly outdoors. For the woods, high pressure sodium is best so you can still enjoy the outdoors with out obnoxious LED lighting.
