I ran across your you tube video...I am a 53 yr old biker/trucker dude and am embarking on my 140 lb weight loss adventure/journey...i have type 2 diabetes from my obesity..and im sick of being fat and depressed about it...you re a great inspiration and im going to use your meal plan tips...i know that carbs are killing me...so i am going to use your methods to do what i need to do...I am 5'8": 310 and i want to get down to 170 lbs... i love chicken/fish and green veggies too...you look GREAT by the way..Heatseeker-Sun City AZ love&hugs!!!!! keep up the great help

Marlena, Your story is very inspiring!! When I had seen the difference in your body and confidence and all your changes you made it made me believe I could do it also. I have been losing weight for 15 months now and have went from 355 to 273. So 82 pounds down and ma still going strong. Marlana... You inspire me so much. I have been struggling with weight loss all my life. I am now 33 years old and over a period of 7 months have lost 17 kilos. I have a heart condition that prevents me from exercising, so the weight loss is a slow process. Watching you lose all that weight over the past few years has inspired me to start eating healthy and realize that I can lose weight without exercise and that it shouldn't be a factor for doing so. Thanks for being an inspiration!

I wish the blogs were dated, at least with the year, as i am tring to watch them all. I love your videos, u r so helpful and friendly and simply beautiful! I also had a tummy tuck and breast lift. I'm still learning about makeup and healthy food choices. I know u don't have time, but I need to learn how to dress for my new size! U always look so styled!

You are such and inspiration to alot of women,and Im one of them. 4 years ago I weighed about 300 pounds, and I started walking, eating healthy, and got my weight to 185. (although I hit a rough patch a few months back, I have regained a few pounds). It did discourage me, but about a month ago I found your videos, and I have put myself back on the right path. So Thank you for helping me head back into the right direction.

If you want to lose weight the answer to that would be "nothing", lol. All their food is loaded with sugars and fats. I sometimes have a tall iced caramel latte as a treat (I do weight watchers), but really, all their foods and drinks are high calorie. Have it as a treat, not a staple drink or food!

SO proud of you Marlena! Over the last 11 months I have lost 60 pounds. I'm 17 so this is a big thing for me and I'm really proud to have lost the weight while I'm young so I can enjoy the rest of my young adult life. You're a great inspiration!!

I lost half my bodyweight over the space of a year and have kept it off for 3 years now. You can do it, honestly. Was overweight my whole life, can't believe how much better I feel now, so worth it. Well done Marlena x

The body needs carbs to run efficiently. It's the body's preferred source of energy. Cutting them out completely is unhealthy. Low carb diets just set you up for failure when you go back to "normal" eating. You have to eat carbs to live. Period.

I am also in the process of losing weight, (45 lbs. so far, yea!!!) and I am also eating a lot of the same things you are. I still have 85 lbs to go. Sometimes I get so downhearted at the sheer size of the number (and myself). What helps for me when I'm trying to lose weight (I have severe depression and it causes my weight to fluctuate) is to not be too hard on yourself. If you don't stick to your diet or whatever, don't worry about it. It doesn't make you weak, just try to pick something healthier the next time you eat. Just keep in mind that even if you don't see a change right away, your body is getting healthier

Thank you so much for your videos, I had given up after losing 20lbs cause I felt that I wasn't losing anymore. but I went through your weight loss videos and it has taken you a while not just a few months. A few years ago I hit over 400lbs and today at 5'11 I'm at 255lbs and did it all thru diet and exercise! My goal as of now is to lose another 30lbs just like you. But as I get closer to my goal the weights been coming off slower which if frustrating. Ur videos have been such and inspiration and I thank you for that. I need to have a tummy tuck as well but I'm terrified. But I just go back to your previous post op / pre op videos and it gives me encouragement that I can find a good doctor and I

I can't believe people are leaving negative comments, she isn't saying everyone needs to be thin or loose weight to be beautiful, she's showing how she eats to feel more comfortable and confident for herself, and trying to give other people helpful advice if they are interested in loosing weight as well. She isn't saying anybody who's bigger is less beautiful. I think she looks awesome and this is inspiring.

My mom has given birth to five kids, one was stillborn so she is raising 4. The youngest are twins. As you can imagine that does a lot to your body. She gets up at 4 am to work out, eats clean and healthy, and is one of the most fit people I know. Children are no excuse. You just have to want it bad enough to make it happen. She even asks us to ride a bike while she runs or go on walks with her so she gets exercise and family time.

I really commend her with her dedication and determination! I know a girl who got gastric bypass surgery and is dropping weight like crazy... Nothing is completely wrong with that, but it kinda makes me mad and jealous because she didn't really even try to workout or eat healthy :\ So Marlena, you are my inspiration and I really appreciate these videos! I've lost 30 pounds so far and you help keep me motivated!

You are such an inspiration. I've been a subscriber for years and you've always been beautiful but you have lost so much weight and you look incredible! I love these videos!!! I've followed many of your snack tips and I love how I don't bloat the next morning due to the control on sodium/sugar. I bloat very easily and I'd hate myself for being bloated the next morning because of all the junkfood I'd eat the day before. Your recipes are wonderful!

I just became a cosmetologist (make up being my fave part) and I have been struggling with 40-50 extra pounds. I have been trying to lose this weight bc given my age (36) I feel that in this business I am competing with younger, more fashionable savvy and "I can wear anything" woman. Marlena, I recently took a nutrition class and you're supposed to eat the most calories at breakfast and lessen the amount during the day. What you're eating looks great! Don't listen to the haters!

I'm glad to see you've made some adjustments to that "breakfast sandwich". I was a little stunned when you put that video up, honestly. If you love to cook in the morning, you might be enjoying making it, but I'm half asleep for the first hour of the day, so I get breakfast sandwiches in the frozen section for about the same amount of calories (or even fewer). Made with turkey sausage, egg whites, low fat cheese, etc. Very filling, quick, easy, the whole nine! Just a suggestion!

1)The sugar they add to "low-fat" foods will turn into fat in the body. 2)Fat found in non factory farmed animals are actually good for you. See the Weston A Price Foundation website they have tons of info. 3) The yoke in the egg has most of the nutrition. I have lost weight from being more active and lower carbs. How active you are will effect how your body uses the carbs . If you're active your body will use carbs as fuel. If you aren't, your body will store the glucose.

because obviously all she cares about is if people find her attractive. judging from your name, deathrape, your judgment is clearly flawed. that is a recipe for ending up in the hospital or dying. she's doing the right thing by taking it slow and keeping her life healthy. following your advice will affect her physically+ mentally and end horribly what are you talking about with her voice? nothing is wrong with her voice. marlena, please don't listen to weird criticism. you are an inspiration!

115!! that's amazing!! I've lost 40 lbs so far starting from 260..seems like every time i start losing more weight it stops and then fluctuates between 1-3 lbs. It just feels so hard to lose it. But I keep putting my "goal jeans" on to see how far I can put them on and it helps motivate me! My focus now is to lose 40 more. I was hoping i'd find some help with recipes. Thank you for your video ^-^

Sara Lee makes 100% multi whole grain bread for 45 calories a slice and kraft makes low fat cheese slices for 25 calories each. if you use those for the sandwich it would take off another 85 calories. to drop more calories you could use egg beaters (30 cal.) and oscar meyer has chicken, ham or turkey that are 6 thin slices for like 50 calories. if you only use 2 slices its 16 calories. that would make your sandwich around 160 calories. add salsa and its great. w/1 real egg its still very low cal

No, for the most part people never did. I'm lucky in that I carry my weight well and I'm proportioned. But, honestly, a lot of it IS how you carry yourself, and your confidence. I would still get lots of younger guys ask me out even at 190. Just keep your head up and smile. It's one aspect of you, not your entire existence. Women should feel beautiful, no matter what. And I wish you so much luck in your weight loss journey. I'm down 16 lbs and feeling great. Stay positive babe.

The most important thing about what you are showing us Marlena is portion size! Its not all about what people eat, weight gain is 100% the result of more calories consumed than they burn. someone can eat "low fat, low sugar" but if they are just eating more of it then it is completely pointless. It awesome you are showing proper meal sizes.

I think its amazing how you've manged to keep your will power throughout your diet! Ive trieds countless amounts of times and after about a month i always end up back where i started and feeling worse than ever. This video has helped me a lot as i didnt quite understant the concept of most diets and was eating around 600-700 calories a day and not eating breakfast. Im gonna start a diet again and follow your blogs for help! Thank You for sharing your tips!

I'm 15 years old and I trying to lose weight because I'd really like a flatter tummy and thighs. I eat really healthy compared to other kids my age (fruits, organic grains, vegetables, nuts, no meat, not a lot of dairy) and I try to exercise as much as I can with my schedule of honors classes and clubs. Your positive attitude really helps me feel like I can achieve my small goal and you videos have made me happy for like, years.XD Thank you Marlena for being who you are as a positive role model.

I make smoothies and make them thick. Just fresh and frozen fruits, maybe fruit juice. Endless flavor variety and is sweet, creamy and extremely healthy. No guilt at all and is in fact, a great addition to a healthy lifestyle. Great ice cream replacement.

Technically, yes. Your body breaks down and absorbs sucrose (cane sugar) and fructose through different functions, however, the end result is the same. In fact, during digestion sucrose is broken down into fructose. And even though Europeans have access to almost the same foods as Americans there is a difference between how each consumes the food. Portions are larger in America, packaged and processed food is more commonly eaten, and "snack food" is more widely produced.

Well, for one- she had a lap band done, and two- she had a tummy tuck, so that has a lot to do with her weight loss. But, cutting the carbs at night and eating clean alone makes a major difference..combine that with about 30min of working out 5x a week, you can get that difference on your own without surgery, it will just take a lil longer and take more effort.

My Desert: Sugar Free Angel Food Cake (sliced thin) with some Low Fat Vanilla Yogurt drizzled over the cake with some fresh mixed berries( blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries)

I have had the bypass surgery and now I have stopped loosing and no matter what I do I seem to gain. Thanks for your video it has given me some ideas. I'm going to keep my motivation high.

Don't deprive yourself. Allow yourself a small treat now and then otherwise you'll just end up bingeing. You don't have to leave out the carbs entirely, just have small portions and try to make them whole grain. I find quinoa is great because it acts like a grain but it's not and has a ton of protein. Portion control, making sure you eat enough protein (to feel full) and allowing yourself small treats is working for me

You look amazing! I remember when you first started & you've come so far. No need to defend yourself from the first video and people saying it was way too many calories. From what I remember you also work out 5 days a week so you NEED food to fuel your body or you wouldn't make it through a hard work out.

Brown rice is the best. We're asian too and we switched to brown rice; it lowers your risk for diabetes and colon cancer, plus you feel full faster, so you don't get to eat as much as when you eat white rice.

the best way to eat a salad is to dip your fork in the dressing you use a third of the dressing and every bite gets dressing and you can't tell your eating less,hope this works for you ,it was great for me
