PSA: Tea metabolizes differently than coffee does. For my neurodivergent friends, switching from coffee to tea really helped me manage anxiety and regulate my mood swings.

True, but she drinks green tea though... there's hardly any caffeine in it! I would go for an Earl Grey or English Breakfast for a bit more punch (still less than coffee). I'm ADHD and I react horribly to caffeine in tea! Like I get headaches, nausea, and the jitters from strong tea but never from coffee... odd :(

Some neurodivergent people do better with coffee, and the caffeine in coffee does have health benefits.
@Hazeydaze92 Жыл бұрын
It's true, it contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxations. Therefore it counteracts the negative effects of the caffeine so you feel alert but relaxed. I always go for English breakfast tea and find it wakes me up without making me jittery and anxious.

A few years ago I had the wish to have my 18 year old body back. I would have literally sold my soul for this. BUT now that I’m 40+, I rather have a healthy body and most importantly a strong body. When I was 18 I was around 50 kg and always on the edge of an ED because everyone only saw my big behind and not the slim and weak torso. With all the dieting etc my weight was like a yo-yo on steroids. I went from 50 to 66 kg, then to 98kg, lost 30kg, went to 104 and had an unhealthy relationship with food. For the last few months I started with a meal plan and weighing my ingredients. At first it might sound bad, but I actually didn’t know how much I actually am „allowed“ to eat to be „full“ without feeling bad. I used to limit my portions just to have many snacks in between meals in the end of the day. Now I have my 3 main meals and 2 snacks throughout the day. And, girl, those portions are huge! Guess what, I started at 104 kg in June and I’m now on 97 kg. I never was this satisfied after a meal as I am now. And watching your videos gave me so much motivation to stay on track.

I genuinely don't understand why some people put literally everything on one plate but also freak out about one food touching another one. Eat your burrito first, then eat your fruits on a separate plate after that. :) I'm pretty sure it's a cultural thing because in Europe (I'm from Hungary), we definitely don't do that. Anyway, I love your videos, I love that you try to teach us not to over-stress about food but at the same time, you remind us to be a little more mindful about our food decisions.

North Americans are obsessed with “one pot cooking” and “one plate eating.” It’s so weird to not have courses and to just pick like it’s a buffet at every meal. It is for sure a cultural difference brought on by seeing enjoying anything as a waste of time. (Have lived in different places in the US and all all over Europe, including Hungary).

I was incredibly offended that a celebrity could be over weight, as I felt I was personally completely worthless because of my weight. I remember someone calling me out on body shaming. And I responded in a kind of way they I felt it was my right as a ft bullied person to call someone else fat.. which is stupid. But looking back like I said I was offended. Here was this beautiful, successful girl going out in swimwear, enjoying her life regardless of the size of her body. Great video! I absolutely adore Selena, she is SO talented and I love her in Only Murders in the Building. As for commenting on people's weight, can we just not? Some neighbour I barely know told me my weight loss was noticeable. I've been trying to slowly lose weight, but it still made me a bit uncomfortable. It would be different if I confided in her that I was on a weight loss journey, but I definitely did not. And what if it wasn't intentional weight loss and I was sick or something? Not cool.

As long as it’s not a mean comment, what’s the harm? Just take it as a compliment. Personally, I even feel like people complimenting me for my weight/figure help me feel good with my weight and show me that there’s no reason to change something even I might feel different on a bad day.
@taryn12 Жыл бұрын
@@Diana-qp2rw I think it's just safer not to comment unless the person has specifically said they're on a weight loss or gain journey or is sick, etc. It could really hurt someone's feelings if they're sick or going through a bad time and it's not intentional weight loss. General compliments like "you looks great!" are much safer. Just my opinion.
@msmiseree1981 Жыл бұрын
@@Diana-qp2rw I can understand that, but I think it's safer to stay away from complimenting someones body, period. Unless the person has shared they are on a specific journey (loss or gain) it can be hurtful even if its not the intention. I'd rather someone comment on an article or color, instead of something to do with my body. Like, that blue shirt really makes your eyes sparkle. Or that red dress is amazing! I love the cut/color/pattern. It can still make me feel good, without being about my body.

Don't burn yourself! Steep it at a lower temperature and let it cool down a little first. Also, steeping it at a lower temperature for less time will make it taste better because it will have fewer tannins. Bouncing the teabag doesn't do anything (though I'm guilty of this, too, sometimes). Looseleaf tea tastes much better and has better quality, but I'm not doing that every day. Some green tea is higher in caffeine than black tea. If I'm treating myself or working from home, to I'll drink a nice quality green tea that I can steep several times. The difference is more noticeable than you'd think. I've never liked coffee.

As always, fantastic video Abbey! I love the new intro clarifying that you are making the celeb diets your own because we are all so different, I wish this was more commonplace! I must say wish that mouth and chewing noises were minimized more in post, they are so unbearably overwhelming in my earbuds (but this is common for me with videos, when the mouth sounds or gulping are the same volume as words or louder i can’t hang and have to click away immediately😅)

LOL There are several states in USA that are further north than parts of Canada so -20 isn't unfamiliar to northern states. XD

Hi Abbey, can you please review Dr. Amy Shaw's books or her video interviews? I'm listening to "I'm so Effing Tired" and a lot of what she is saying is making a lot of sense. Feeling like I need to only eat organic and make major diet changes. I can send you links to interviews she's done if its something you'd consider.

You do you of course, but just wanted to flag that 'organic' is a label that covers a lot of ground and doesn't automatically mean there are any less herbicides or pesticides or more nutrients in your food. Research hasn't been able to show significant differences between traditionally grown food and most 'organic' food.
