I’m Brazilian and for us Acai bowls are a dessert. Like how you would go to a soft serve yogurt place to get a froyo we do the same with Açaí. Some fruit but a lot of times we too it with condensed milk, powdered milk, banana. And Coconut shavings. We don’t really consider it to be a healthy meal

It’s because you add a lot of sugar to it, if you don’t add anything to açaí it is totally healthy

Hi Abbey, love your videos, but I would love to see açaí beeing treated as the amazing cultural food that it is (as I usually see with most of the asian food that come up in what I eat in a day videos). It is another one of those foods that the US has popularized without the original social and cultural context, but it's actually natural to the northen region of Brazil and it's usually eaten as a savory dish paired with Amazon fish and cassava flour. It may help the bitternes make sense as is does for arugula when you're not trying to make it pair with berries and banana. Southern reagions may also have it as a sweet fruit, but it's fresher than American açaí, where all the processing of the food changes drastically the taste. I know Megan isn't Brazilian, but i thought it was a nice learning opportunitie. Again, love your content

We love Meghan's mush in our house... we just put it on and let it cook forever, but we like to add a bit of onion and garlic. It's fun to try different bouillon flavors, i.e. Better than Bouillon. It's really very flexible, and it can work with other veg, too, just mush whatever you like best.

The zucchini ‘sauce’ is a recipe I stole from her years ago. It works really well for a more healthful sauce. I just cut several zucchini into big chunks, pour in some vegetable broth, about equal parts water and put it on a medium heat allowing it to come to a slow boil. The zucchini just start to break down into what is similar to a tomato sauce consistency. I add a wee bit of parm just before eating. It’s amazing! I like your idea of adding some beans though.

Carla Lalli Music has a FANTASTIC recipe for a zucchini pasta sauce. You grate the zucchini, sauté it in a lot of olive oil with salt, pepper, garlic, shallots, and pepper flakes until it turns to mush. Add some tomato paste and cook for a couple more minutes. Toss the sauce with the pasta, pasta water, and a ton of parm. It’s sooooo good. I make it all the time.

There is actually a very good reason as to why people with professional bodyguards don't close their own car doors or room doors unless in private or at home. They are usually high profile people who have become targets to someone. When they exit the car that gives that someone the chance to attack, so if the car door is closed by the protected person, they can't get back into the car for safety and a fast getaway.

Oh I just saw one about intermited fasting. Can you tell me it's name? I was just very interested because benefits like autophagy etc. were claimed in a podcast I heard, that's generaly science-based and for example, debunked that whole "humans always fasted", so didn't seem very sided. When I heard that 500-calorie thing I though to myself well how does that hold up, claiming benefits off not eating while eating and is it just more of a crash diet?, of course 500 calories and enough for any normal adult and fasting and in general might be triggering for people who have had eating disorders. To conclude I'm not really interested in that weight loss expect because of course doing this for weight loss wouldn't be healthy at all, more so interested because of those ketogenesis and autophagy claims

Açaí is a type of food that comes from Indigenous people in Brazil, and it's really important to us, Brazilians. The way it's made here in Canada (unless you're getting it at Açaí Concept) does not do it justice. It's not a "smoothie bowl." This is another example of North Americans taking food from a country with a much less privileged population and reducing it to some sort of detox or anti-aging secret, like they did with goji berries, from Asia. Like you, I dislike the concept of "superfoods" and all this bullshit that they associate with specific foods but açaí is a cultural one, and it deserves respect. Love your videos!

That acai bowl looks like the purple slime stuff from the live action Cat in the Hat.... No but seriously though this all looks interesting. I probably wouldn't go for a smoothy bowl personally but that is personal taste.

I heard a bunch of good things so I tried it and my stomach was freaking out. Turns out it's not very good for gastrointestinal health and I don't know how most people that are out here promoting it, can even stomach it!
