I’m a Canadian living in Denmark and the way cove works is pretty much how the Danish healthcare system works.. instead of going to emerg you call a local healthcare line and speak to a doctor right away and if they think you need to be seen they give you an appointment or if you need a prescription they just put it on your healthcard and you can go pick it up right away. My husband had kidney stones and we were in and out of the hospital (with a ct scan) in less than two hours.

Same with me! I was able to lose 30 lbs in the past year by creating a routine I knew I could stick to so I wouldn't binge. Intermittent fasting worked really well for me because it is an aspect of my diet I felt I had complete control over. I get most recipe ideas from Tik Tok and Pinterest- but mostly Tik Tok! Additionally, I stopped eating my trigger foods (Mine are ice cream and potato chips) at the beginning of my health journey but now I have them every so often. I also workout 5x a week, mostly to help with my mental health. I find that I can let go of a lot stress with exercise. I like going for walks or doing a dance videos, something relaxing and fun! Working out should feel like me time, not a chore. An important lesson I learned over the year was to let go of the guilt I felt when eating certain foods. Guilt for my ed is a dangerous path, so learning that created the biggest change! Hope this helps!:)

COVE sounds great in theory, but most migraine medications are mild anti-seizure medications. PLEASE talk to your doctor AT MINIMUM before taking any medication prescribed through COVE. While birth control is fairly safe (not totally safe) to order online from a physician, migraine medications can do permanent damage to you without the proper care. It's a great low cost option if you've ALREADY been evaluated by a neurologist and know how you react to things, but don't go "oh, my headaches suck, maybe I should try COVE." I say all this as someone with migraines who sees the benefit of COVE. Always, always, always be in communication with your PCP about any medication/supplement you take, ESPECIALLY medications that mess with your brain and nervous system.
@AbbeysKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Yes of course always speak to your doctor to determine the cause of your headaches
@opaljade983 жыл бұрын
@@AbbeysKitchen Thank you, I just wanted to add the comment since I didn't see a disclaimer in the video or description. Neurological medications can give long lasting damage and, even with expert doctors available online, the idea of a "quick fix" for migraines is concerning. Especially in a time where it is harder to see someone in person. People can forget that these physicians are not your PCP and also do not have the same level of liability as your PCP. So if something goes wrong, it's you VS a company. Not you VS a doctor who committed malpractice. It's why online birth control places boldy state that they don't replace medical care. It is only supplementary.
@littlemissbekah97223 жыл бұрын
Yes!! My grandmother would have very debilitating migraines most her life and a specialist finally figured out that it was due to extreme tightness in the back of her neck which caused misalignment which caused other things which lead to migraines. A combo of chiropractic care and a small dose muscle relaxant reduced her migraines over 90%. Different things work for different people because migraines are caused by different issues. Finding the cause can be so hard though.

Ugh totally. I have seen so many of these online pharmacy type retailers and it makes me really nervous. For example, there is a product that sells a "UTI Kit" which has a pee stick for testing if you have a UTI (which you are supposed to bring to your doctor...?) and then some expensive magical pain killing pills (the active ingredient is exactly the same as CVS branded stuff). The cute packaging and marketing draws people in but it's a huge waste of money! Not to mention there is no appointment, evaluation of drug interactions or charting. You're SOL if something goes wrong.

I gotta say that Oatly Barista is just the best oat milk for coffees period. But it has 59 cals/100 ml and since most people enjoy having around 150-200 ml of milk in their lattes that's over a 100 calories. Now of course this isn't gonna "break your diet" but it's also not gonna fill me up so personally i tend to have only a small milk coffee/cappuccino/ late and take the rest black since i actually also really enjoy black coffee and it leaves room for snacks that are higher in fibre and/or protein like an apple with nut butter or some yoghurt/cottage cheese and fruit that's just gonna help me feel satiated for longer :) So i can really understand why she says it's her way to "indulge". The taste is just too good.

I LOVE that you are not against snacking! With all the intermittent fasting hype, I almost started to believe that snacking is toxic and it's gonna kill me! I've been a huge snacker for my whole life... But I heard about all the research on how long breaks between meals are necessary for good health and digestion that I became insecure about this way of eating. I think it would be great if you could dedicate a video to snacking, and if there is also research to support that it is actually healthy for some of us :)

Hi Abby, Can you please do a video completely dedicated to balance? I feel so restricted and confused by so much advice out there. Don’t eat carbs, eat carbs. “Get this much protein, that’s to much protein”. I would really love to hear from you regarding the balance of macros and nutrients in a day: protein, carbs (what kind of cards), healthy fats, fibre, omega 3’s etc.

Hi Abbey! I love your channel. I have struggled with my diet for YEARS and watching your videos reminds me I need to be gentle with myself. I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance. I'm curious for your take on Jason Fung's Obesity Code. It is actually what my doctor recommended trying to manage my insulin levels and androgen excess. He has lots of books and KZbin videos.

Thumbs up on your suggestion. Also I'm not sure if it's just me, but I am happy to hear someone's eating habits that describe someone trying to lose weight or become super buff.

She probably chose to say young girl because of Alisha’s main demographic of viewers. Alisha does seem a lot younger because of this alone, in my opinion. I dunno, it makes sense to me. Lol especially considering the age difference. Guess it’s just a matter of perspective.

Abbey do you feel like in general these “ What I eat in day” videos are harmful?? In an ideal world good or bad do these influencers stop sharing so much around food when they have no qualifications? ( or just more disclaimers??)
@Chocolatepuppy213 жыл бұрын
Yeah, some are genuinely just a person sharing their meals and what they like to eat every day, but a LOT of them are unqualified people sharing misinformation and perpetuating diet culture language. Like basically every time someone drinks lemon water or takes a shot of ACV.

Here's a simple n fast recipe that I like: cut an apple in small cubes or grate it, put it in a bowl, then add cinnamon, cocoa, honey/sugar or anything u like, put it in the microwave for about 1 min and that's it. It may sound weird, but it's really good and I made it first in a night when I craved my mom's apple pie. *Also, u can add porridge to it and make it an apple pie, be creative:)
