So much talk but no mention of starting at the beginning of the digestive journey….properly chewing your food to begin with.

Very confusing. He kept saying it all depends on your body. try this try that, eat nuts don't eat nuts, high fiber low fiber, eat meat don't eat meat. Lots of talk and no solution.

Eskimos also consume a lot of fat which is probably helping the digestive system. Like the carnivore diet!

Thank you as I had a really bad experience the other night and I’m not sure why but I get nauseous and then the pain is so cruel and I begin vomiting. I don’t smoke or drink alcohol as I quit almost a year ago I drink 2 litres of water a day but still struggling to lose weight. I exercise more and have been plant based for 3 years so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your wonderful videos

Good information especially work out your food intolerances. I have had diverticuli for many years and several bouts of diverticulitis. Reducing plant foods, particularly leaves and flowers eg broccoli, cauliflower, other brassicas, spinach etc as well as many fruits and all grains reduced my inflammation. I can immediately tell now when my gut is inflamed…discomfort, pain, stool changes etc. Small amount of gluten free oats the other day caused a 3 day upset 😮

I learned the hard way 😢,I stopped taking my arthritis Medicine 2 months ago and 2 days ago I passed something that went thud! and immediately my gut went down and I feel better but I googled it and now I'm eating the food I should 😢 I have heartburn and I have to go to my Dr office and tell her what happened to me 🤷🏽‍♂️ I can't believe If I hadn't stopped taking my arthritis Medicine NSAIDS 2 months ago I'd probably have my colon messed up.Thank GOD 🙏🏽

I just got diagnosed with diverticulitis and I am disapointed. I don't really know what to eat and not to eat? I was told to eat low fat or nonfat food and to eat my stuff as bland as possible. I had really bad diarrhea. And before I had cronic constipation I worry about having to have surgery. I don't want to wear a bag if I had surgery.

My mother is doing much better drinking marshmallow and wild yam root herbal tea to reduce inflammation. For constipation try, slippery Elm or castor oil. Drinking tons of water to soften the stool helps. She's also getting relief from eating watermelon, honey dew melons, and smoothies. My mother seems to feel better when she eating plant base. The stomach doesn't work as hard digesting fruits and vegetables compared to meat. If you're constipated, meat is way more toxic sitting in your digestive tract than fruits or vegetables. If you get your nutrition from fruits and vegetables it's way easier to create bowel movement when you flush your system with water or green juices. To reduce the chances to infecting the DV it's important to have bowel movements daily. Avoid black tea and caffeine. The two best herbal teas for diverticulitis are: marshmallow and wild yam root. Exercise will also help create bowel movements. I bought, smoothies for diverticulitis on Amazon for my mother. Don't stop drinking water. You could add lemon to it, or add flavor to it with watermelon. I hope this helps.

Hi , through to my experience, its better to be easy on your meal when it's flare up for at least 24hours with very light and soft food, the kind of that hospital give to the patient. There is a very good information on the internet about the right diet for diverticulitis. Ask your GP to print it out for you . Or see the dietician. Most of the patients don't need any surgery. All the best of health.

I would love a deeper dive into fiber. I had diverticulitis in 2017. Worst pain of my life except for a migraine I had a few years earlier where I actually thought death would be better 😢 And I've given birth which hurt so much. Any way, I have been eating mostly whole food plant based since 2017 and haven't had a diverticulitis attack since. But I also quit smoking in 2020. Maybe it's both. I'm not Inuit heritage and also had high cholesterol in 2017. I didn't remember how high but I was prescribed statins I never took because I thought I could control with diet. I've also been told by every doctor I've been to since that I need to avoid nuts and seeds which I ignored because I knew the new research showed no connection with diverticulitis. My total cholesterol is way low.. 150. I would love an in depth dive into fiber and who is benefitted and who is not

I can't eat eggs anymore, goes right thru me,was just diagnosed with diverticulitis n don't know what to eat anymore.Seems like everything blows my stomach up ridiculously. Just had surgery for giant kidney stones, n had no idea about the diverticulitis till I saw another dr.You would have thought with all the scans I've had in two years n my complaints about the pain it would have been diagnosed sooner.I was told it was fatty liver n possibly an ulcer .Its been two months since getting rid of the stones so I know that particular pain is gone.Id like to know why Dr's can't be more helpful in telling you what foods to eat for certain ailments. Thank God for the Dr's on utube.Im 77 n I remember years n years ago the Dr's actually had certain diets for different ailments n would make a copy for you to follow.

Great informative and very easy to follow video. Thank you. I have IBS as well as diverticulosis. Tomato pips were found in the pouches of my diverticulitis because I used to eat them constantly. I recently found that salads, coleslaw and uncooked veg irritate and cause acid reflux. 🙁. I'm not enjoying food anymore but have found relief in Slippery Elm Root and freshly squeezed celery juice. Please can you do the roughage video and try to include these two possible treatments. I'm curious if they can cause harm.

Hi, thanks for that. I have DD, IBD, NAFLD, and I truly belive that I am where I am at 47 because of ignoring what my body says it is sensitive to for my entire life and being inactive for the last 10 yrs and a greedy sod. If only there was a basic food sensitivity test for everyone as they turn adults then they would never put themselves through the pain I suffer on the regular.

I have Chronic Kidney disease for 20 years plus and in the last year suffered with diverticulitis. I believe because of the dialysis diet which consists of very little fibre and restricted water in take that I developed diverticulitis. For the past 8 months I've been suffering with severe pain although I've had two lots of antibiotics during that time. What advice can you give me?

One thing I have not heard mentioned is dairy. I experienced what I believe was a diverticulitis flare after adding dairy to a daily diet for 4 days in a row that I don’t normally eat. There was a stress factor also, so I just wondered if the added dairy could have contributed.

Me too no pork no salad with steak I had my ninth attack last week. I was in the hospital for seven days and I'm home and I feel like crap. I'm on antibiotics by mouth they make me sick. I couldn't get the port in my arm for the IV antibiotics this time got infected, got another one put in and it bled so they had to take that out ,which last year I came home with antibiotics by IV and I'm very very very tired and very very emotional from this and does anybody else suffer that? Since they know the correlation between the gut and the brain, I'm afraid this is really depressing!! The pain and lethargic feeling I will get surgery probably in a month or so have to follow up with my surgeon since I had so many attacks where I could risk a preforation.
