. For this 9 holes, we look at the difference between breaking 100 and breaking 90. What you will find about how to break 90 when you're a 100 breaker is that there are just a FEW SMALL errors here and there where a bit of thinking and planning can really get you where you want to be, under that 90 barrier!

Brian and JMac joined me at Permas Jaya after I arrived the day before on a long flight for a 24 hour stop in Malaysia.
Important things to note:
1. Brian took a lesson since his last video where he was hitting the ball like shit. He now hits the ball like a beast. GET A LESSON if you are not improving from between 100 and 120. There is no better investment in yourself than a lesson to slash 10-20 strokes.
2. JMac has introduced the driver to his bag slowly but surely. This will drop him to single figures once he gets it under control.
3. BUT regardless of whether he gets it under control, he will NEED TO LEARN TO MISS IN THE RIGHT PLACES AND SELECT BETTER AIMING TARGETS!!! There are also a few ego shots that slip into the game which spoil the score from being 8-10 over par where it could easily be 4 or 5 over for 9 holes.
4. The differences between 25 and 17 handicapper are so small. It's just a poor decision here and a bad chunked or thinned shot there. You can easily take 8 shots off your score by maintaining composure and MAKING BETTER SHOT SELECTIONS.
THERE ARE NO HERO SHOTS IN HIGH HANDICAP GOLF, ONLY STUPID SHOTS. I hate to break that to you but this is pure blinding truth.
5. Short game short game short game short game ad nauseam.
6. Get off the tee better, once you can play around the greens, you need to skip the iron game and just go work on the tee ball. Use your comfy clubs to start and the slowly improve the longer hitting ones, like a driver or fairway wood. Then bring them to the course and introduce the to the wider holes with the least danger.
7. LEARN THE PUNCH SHOT. You can do this many ways. Find a way. Learn how to control the distance of the punch shot. it is merely a 30-100 yard bump and run. Anyone can do it. So go do it. If your handicap is over 20, forget the iron play, go get a punch shot done.
This is the life playas. Golf, warmth, sun, fun, boys, improvement and babes. What else do we need?

You don't get enough recognition for how well you teach REALISTIC course management skills for AVERAGE players. A very relatable channel for most of us. It's also invaluable how much this matters, course management is the most overlooked thing when trying to reduce strokes. Everyone's playing like Tiger on Sunday during their weekend rounds.

I enjoy most of your vids, but as a weekend warrior, these 100/90/80 vids are still the best and most relevant. Was just thinking that I wish u did more of these. Your channel (and practice) are the main reason I now consistently break 90, and have got my handicap down from 23 to 16. Course management, attitude and ego checking can save soooooo many shots. Cheers from Australia, and may all your days be Coronaviruz free.

Another really interesting video. Helps me to keep my thoughts on my game in perspective. The gapping session and a range finder will certainly help Bryan. I feel a lot more confident on course since getting a laser range finder for Christmas. I had a gapping session on an indoor golf range simulator, printed out all the carry distance’s for each club and taped them to my clubs. Really handy. Good game guys⛳️🏌️‍♂️

Love seeing people enjoying the game, as it should be. That’s the best of golf. I used to putt like JMac, that “back and through” motion that gets taught all the time and it personally did me no good. I learned to “pop” putt.. changed my golfing world. I seriously think a lot of high to mid handicappers would be better off like that, it’s easier to get the putter face on to the ball square and after a while you get the feel for it.

Love that playa. I remember seeing or hearing a dude hitting 7 iron when I am hitting 6 every time. I was affected by this. Only a year later did i realize all the lofts of the new clubs are way stronger while I was jamming 15 year old clubs. In the end, if the 9 iron is going to get you in the hole in fewer shots, no need to smash the 50° ego wedge

I was like Jmac, went from 120-85 in a year....then stopped playing and holding at 92-95. The thing that brought my score down so low was 1. Eliminate 3 putts. 2. Stop making bad shots worse. I could keep trying to hit through a gaggle of trees towards the pin, or take a 20yard chip to the fairway, and hit the green in the next shot. Those 2 tips eliminated 2-3 shots per hole.

I remember playing a round with an old lady. She could not hit the ball over 150 yards. However, she was always straight down the fairway and had an incredible short game. 350 yard par 4... no problem. Third shot was on the green and one or two putts. She seemed to be putting for par every single hole. If she missed, it was a tap-in for bogy. Moral of the story... Just hit it straight and work on the putting.
