@@isaacoflynn4759 wow awesome stuff. Keep chipping away and you will get there. Don’t worry about getting another round over 109 - we won’t always beat our scores, I followed an 84 up with a 111 (mainly due to bad decisions and penalties 😂)

Good tips. But most times we don’t get to hit 3 or 4 balls from each location, with different clubs or different swing corrections. Lol

Haha true but that shows why you need to do the safer/more consistent club. For people struggling to break 100 they should try going out for a practice round where they do hit multiple balls and try different clubs etc as it’s so much more beneficial than a range (pending you can book a quiet tee slot and doesn’t slow up play ofc)

My iron swing is shocking, i dont really know whats gonna happen. I can hit some good ones but cant repeat it every time. The amount of shots i waste because i chunk it is so frustrating. Whatever the par for the hole is is how many it takes to get to the green, unless i have a disaster and then i 2 putt. I couldn’t hit a green if my life depended on it.

Hit good ones every time is hard for any high handicapper so wouldn’t worry to much about that. I’m by all means not great but one on course change you could make if you start chunking is put the ball back in your stance a bit (as the club is currently hitting the ground too soon, but probably just have a look at some KZbin drills that could help for a more permanent fix). What tees are you playing from? Could be an idea to move forward if possible build some confidence then push back maybe. If you are 2 putting though that’s a big win itself 👍. Again definitely not good at golf myself but have experienced a couple of the things you mentioned 👍 keep slogging away it will come slowly

Tip 1 doesn't really help when my longest "straight" club is my 3 hybrid but that only gose 135 yards so can't really be useing that to tee off as it would be taking me 4 good shots just to get to the green 😢

What’s the furthest club you hit ‘not straight’? Would still say for breaking 100 135yrds in play in the middle is much better than 180yrds OB or obstructed. Would say focus on the short game (that’s where most of the shots are taken in the end anyways). Work on distance after keeping the ball in play for most of the round. @@JackPlaysGolf I completely agree. Consistent tee shots of 135 yards in play will put you in position to break 100. Take my last round for example. I was struggling with my driver, so I left it at home, as I knew I wouldn't have any confidence with it off the tee. I started off with my 2-hybrid off the tee, but was hooking it badly. My 5 hybrid felt good though, as I hit it about 150-175 yards. I ended up teeing off with my 5 hybrid on 11 holes total (including three 500+ yard par 5s), and I had 7 doubles, 3 bogeys and a birdie (!!!) on those holes. While the birdie was clearly a rare outlier, a 150-175 yard tee shot in play always put me in position to get nothing worse than a double.

I finally just gave up. Almost 40 (been playing since I was 17) and never broke 100. I even had some lessons. Didn't help.

Sorry to hear that - did you enjoy playing? That’s the main thing score doesn’t really matter at the end of the day (bad day on the course is better than a good day at work 😂).

@@jtimko2196 if you are getting 54 on front 9 I think that it would probably be well in your capabilities to get under the 100 mark. My friend was in a similar boat and the main thing was mental frustration and getting very negative along with refusing to go down clubs for distance on tee shots and longer shots into green. He lightened up a lil bit accepting the bad shots are going happen and when in doubt reverted to a 9 iron just to get a smooth hit on it to rebuild confidence. E.g 400yd par 4 instead of hitting a 200yd shot he went for a 150 -> 150 -> 100 (so extra shot to the green but if one of those goes wrong you don’t normally get put in a bad spot or take a penalty). Not sure if that is something that could work for you or not. Main thing I would say is make sure you enjoy yourself out there if you give it another crack 👍 good luck if you do I’m routing for ya.

@@JackPlaysGolf Thanks for the tips! I think my main problem is not striking the ball correctly tho. All my iron shots go about 100 yds regardless of club. About 150 for the woods. If I barely swing at all, I usually get about the same distance as a full swing. The one thing I'm decent at is shots under 100 yards tho.

@@jtimko2196:Have you ever get fit with your club set? There might be a chance they are not fit for you…i.e. do you use steel instead of graphite iron? What is your swing speed? I’m a 1 year 9 months beginner, and do not use iron below 8, instead I replace my 7, 6, 5 irons with hybrid 6, 5 and 4, because their distance is about the same (even with hybrids I have much better distance and solid strike compared to iron)… my handicap is now 16.3, and I only scored above 100 in the last 3 months only very few times if the situation were too overwhelming for me (injured, courses that are too difficult for my skill level, extremely hot weather, etc)….

@@timothywang4083 where are you currently at? Big things that helped me cross that barrier are in the video - but mentally treating a par as birdie, a bogey as a par and a double as a bogey was big help and then just playing smarter and reducing risk of penalty strokes. All the best 👍
