Thanks a lot! Very usefully. But as I remember you have a Gransport mod - they are very different from even Ghibli S.

Del Toro, did Maserati drop the CD player entirely after the 2016 MY when they updated the infotainment? On earlier Maseratis, the disk changer was mounted in the trunk, but if they truly have gone to Bluetooth/SD Card only, I'm going to have to search for an earlier model (a ton of my media is tied up in CDs, so it's a must-have for me).

Hi Flyingphoenix indeed there's no CD charger and not as option neither, just SD USB that is all

@@deltoroarmando9047, thank you so much, Del Toro, for the prompt reply. I was afraid of that. One more quick question, how do you feel about the hydraulic power steering vs. the EPS introduced for MY 2018 onward? I know the hydraulic power steering was previously a weak point of the Ghibli's reliability, but I also know people who say that the new steering is a downgrade and has no road texture/detail whatsoever (which is a big no-no for me in a sports sedan). Have you driven both? Do you have a preference? How do they compare in your opinion?

@@flyingphoenix113 well honestly I had the 2017 with hydraulic and now electrical both with the same type of 21" wheels and it is my own advise, it is much more smoth ride with the hydraulic However it doesn't apply to the new drive system, as the highway assist where the car steers by it self although it ask you to put your hands on the steering wheel after a few seconds, etc etc.. the ride with electrical steering wheel it is more direct ..too much, if the street is a bit damaged the car will steering thinking it is you, but it is just the tires following the irregularity of the street, it can surprise, but we become used to it.

Dear Armando, as a happy owner of a 410 hp Ghibli S, I would like to ask you how are perceived these 20 additional hp along with 30 additional Nm on the 2019 model?
@deltoroarmando9047
@deltoroarmando9047 4 жыл бұрын
Honestly you don't fell any difference, I've drive quite a few 410 and one of them from Garage INTINI Maserati was around 60k miles already and was much faster others were a bit slower all Q4 What is good in the 430 you notice less consumption if you pay a bit attention and the most noticeable it is all the new equipment coming in the MY2019 onwards
@giacomobattelli
@giacomobattelli 4 жыл бұрын
@@deltoroarmando9047 Sure, as I thought... these environmental restrictions kill the performance and therefore additional hp is needed. I so vividly remember the car my father drove in the early 90's: a Lancia Dedra HF turbo..."Only" 165 hp, but what a beast! To resemble that feeling nowadays you need far more power. You might say it is a matter of weight... right, but not only!
@deltoroarmando9047
@deltoroarmando9047 4 жыл бұрын
@@giacomobattelli a cousin of mine had the lancia HF integrale evo 2 in 1994 200ch at that time. Yes was fantastic but you cannot compare to a Ghibli .. the real weight of my Ghibli full options is 2010 kg more then 2 tones and bring all that in less then 5 seconds 0/60 ..it is a beast too, sadly there is no more the turbo on off feeling as the lancia and many others.. the power today is managed with full of electronic to give a smooth fast start.. and it is sad for the feeling. Howevee it is fast considered a 5 meter long car with 2 tones weight The extra power it is not because the car needed more, it is due to smoke regulations, no more hydraulic steering wheel, different air-conditioning compressor etc all that made the car win an extra 20ch. Finally the ghibli it is a mixture of class charm luxury and performance for the pleasure of driving it. It is not a car to compare, or to race, either you like it and you buy or better take cars more race character like bmw M4 etc. Ghibli It is really a car to buy by taste only
@giacomobattelli
@giacomobattelli 4 жыл бұрын
@@deltoroarmando9047 You are absolutely right. The modern comparison to the old Lancia would today be a hot hatch or so... I only tried to make a statement how environmental regulation has affected engines over the last few decades. A better example of how this goes is perhaps the comparison between my first and second car: the EURO 2 Clio 1.4 16v bought in 2000 and the very same spec bought 4 years later which happened to be EURO 3 (drive by wire throttle and so on....). Renault kept the same figures for both power and performance...but in reality the latter was 20kmh slower in top speed...not to mention acceleration or the driving pleasure. And this is only a trivial example. If we talk about the Ghibli, for the use I make of the car, I can say the following: I bought it back in early 2016 ... and until today, there is no other car I would rather have. Maybe the Trofeo, but I find the V6 extremely pleasant to listen to...probably the best sounding modern V6. And yet 410 hp is enough for me. When I think about the smell of the leather in the cockpit, the way the car communicates to you while driving on some curvy b road....or just the cold start... As you know, only if you try you can properly understand.

@@giacomobattelli, power steering issues, brake issues, and various electronics issues. It looks like the engines/transmissions were pretty solid on the early cars, but everything else seemed fairly disastrous. The new models appear to have remedied most, if not all of the original problems.

apologise but I don't understand what do you mean.... MY - means - Model Year ... There 3 changes on the Gihibi, MY 2015 it is the 1st models, MY 2017 models got a few changes like new MTC, hand brake on the rear rotors, air-conditioning module, central console is different, ODB is different etc etc, in 2018 they change a bit the outside of the car, with new bumpers, front LED lights but not much changes inside, beside the ODB more defined, in 2019 they change quite a lot, that's the video, why not call a car bought in 2016 a MY 2016? because they still selling the MY 2015 models in 2016 depending when you order the car it could be a surprise that you get an MY 2017 in 2016, same for me, I bought the Ghibli Gransport in mid 2018 and I received the MY2019 which has quite a few differences from the previous models , however in 2019 you just get that model, thats why it is a MY2019, now there is the MY2021 which has more significant improvements then the MY2019
