i'm pretty sure the milatary service is mandatory only for males and it lasts 8-11 months depending on the education and position provided by the Defence Forces to the conscript.

I was 11 months. Recruit training -> combat school -> squad leader -> reserve

females can serve, if they want... after applying they can take it back in 3months time... (its probablty put in place in case of sudden pregnancy or getting cold feet)

I agree in most ways but the gay lesbian thing ain’t true. I think it is more what groups you move in . I know 2 gay man and a lesbian family with 3 children. And have even spoken about this with them , and because we are so calm, they get looking from other people ,but mostly everyone is nice. We just don’t speak about it publicly.And knowing how much young people travel ( at least 1 country a year), would think we do see different people but it is different with older people who still are afraid of loosing our country for others if they come here . And because we are so small I do understand them in some way

People are not leaving Estonia. Alot of russian soldiers and occupants left Estonia during 90s and early 2000s. Russians left, thank god!
