Awesome!! They are both a great looking speaker the two things i do like on the rf 7 lll's is the separation on the in side of the box and each have a port. Now i'm betting that it is going to sound different for sure, I'm thinking maybe a tighter bass response. Also the compressed rubber surrounds on the compression driver. Thank you for the review, and as always great job! Cant wait to hear your sound comparison.

Great work Youthman. However the look of the rf7II for me is much better than the rf7III's. The cherry rf7II are wonderful, the rf7III have that front plastic cover that destroy the beautiful look of these speakers.
@voiceofreason9238
@voiceofreason9238 6 жыл бұрын
By "plastic cover" do you mean the front grill? You don't see the grill, it's just the frame to which the material is attached. All you see on the front is the translucent acoustically transparent material.
@AndyBHome
@AndyBHome 6 жыл бұрын
I think that the front is actually painted MDF rather than plastic. A lot of people who have only seen it on the web or in videos think it's plastic, it's actually highly smoothed painted fiber board.

Hey bro! Good to hear from you. Certainly appreciate the clarification. I definitely do not know everything about every Klipsch speaker. I'm sure you will find lots of errors in my videos. Well.....not exactly. I REALLY struggled with how to pronounce it. The Klipsch rep that sent them to me said in one of her emails to me, "Sounds like the word Tractrix is giving you a tough time. It’s pronounced TrackTricks. Of course we make our components as difficult to say as Klipsch. Haha! No big deal." Whoops. haha. Yes, I'm on Facebook. Michael Stevens

As perfect as these speakers are also they would be alot more appealing to audiophiles if they would add a mid-range speaker. Just like a 5 inch in between the tweeter and the 10in that would make them over the top more than what they are

Thanks Youthman, looking forward to your up coming video testing of these speakers. Years ago I owned a pair of RF-7's, matched with a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum Amp. That's 100 watts per channel of totally awesome tube power. Really smoothed out the upper end and the bottom end was not at all out of control, nice and tight with ultimate slam, the mid range was typical Klipsch greatness, but with an extra touch of liquid buttery smoothness made possible by the Rogue Amp. Well, I thought I grew out of my Rock and Roll days and sold those speakers and amp, and have grown to regret it. But now, I think the love affair is about to be reunited .. Thanks again.
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Wow, 100 watt tube amp! Most tubes I've seen are under 20 watts. That's awesome. You can't go wrong with tubes and Klipsch. Just brings that warmth to them. Maybe one day I'll run down that rabbit hole myself. LOL. Thanks for watching! Working on a 4th RF-7 III video now.

Hi Josh, my RF7 were stock. I have never heard original RF7 with DeanG. My RF7 II were the ones that had the DeanG but I ended up removing them and going back to stock, sold my RF7, gave my son the RF7 II and upgraded to the RF7 III. I would take the RF7 III over the RF7.

Would love to hear the difference between the RF-7 II and RF-7III. I have stayed away from Klipsch due to them being reported as very bright and fatiguing to listen too, but no shop in Knoxville carries the III’s. I do like the fact that they are made in the USA though, so I could be persuaded if the sound isn’t harsh.
@Youthman
@Youthman 5 жыл бұрын
People that do not like Klipsch or have never heard them will day they are harsh. People like myself that own them love them. Your ears will have to be the judge. If you like a laid back sound, spend the extra cash and buy B&W. If you like a live sounding, very detailed, large sound stage that evokes emotion, I would highly recommend the RF7 III. The RF7 II will be brighter so if you are already concerned about them being bright or harsh, I would not consider the RF7 II even though I think it too is a great speaker.

There's an offer on Amazon right now for used Rf7ii. I can get a pair for 700 euros. Initially I was going for the rp280f's, those would cost a bit over 950 a pair (new). But honestly I'm a bit suspicious about that price. Do you think it's possible to be that cheap? For me it looks too good to be true.

I love the look of the Black on Copper on the front as it provides great contrasting colors. I never liked the Cherry RF7 II since Cherry next to Copper Woofers doesn't look appealing to me. Everyone has different taste.

Ok youthman, I got my rf7ii's and the rc-64iii center channel. The towers state they handle 250 watts rms. The center states 200 rms. I am running them off the xpa-5. It sounds great. Was thinking about buying a dedicated 2 channel emotiva amp for towers. I believe they are about 500 watts rms. Or get a 3 channel at 450 watts rms? My question is 1) can these speakers handle all that power over and beyond what they are rated at. And 2) should I get the 2 channel (and keep my center run from the xpa5) or run all front 3 channels off a 3 channel amp and run the surrounds pff the xpa 5. 3) Will the rest of my surrounds be drowned out by all this power being pushed put from my front 3 speakers? Thanks
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Great question. Having more power is better than too little power. I think a 3ch for the front is a great idea. Your calibration software will balance the fronts with your surrounds so you don’t have to worry about one drowning out the other

I like all Cabinets & Designs of the RF7 Series. But i dont understand, why Klipsch dont make some ,,better & smarter,, Design & Material Choices : Why so much Plastic, why they dont mount the Driver with invisible screws so the Front looks ,,cleaner,,,. Why the Plastic Terminal and not direct Banana-inputs in the Wood or on an great Metalplate. There are so many small improvements wich would make them looking better. Other Companys done that since years and also in cheaper series...

I'm assuming some decisions are financial as with every upgraded part, there is a cost. I cannot speak for why they make certain decisions. I definitely think they could have made a better choice than the tiny rubber stick-on feet for a $3200 pair of speakers. Looking forward to tomorrow when I compare the RF-7, RF-7 II and RF-7 III with a few friends I have invited over. Hoping to share my thoughts on how they sound on Monday. Thanks for watching!

The tweeter horn aperture makes *HUGE* difference. On the older models, I listen to violin, for example. The old tweeter aperture would resonate, and color the sound significantly. The resonance would allow you to sonically "trace" the shape of the tweeter, thus calling attention to itself. This makes the speaker sound poorly integrated. The newer design mitigates this by a huge factor. Strings sound much more natural.
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott, I completely agree with you. I'm REALLY enjoying the new horn on the RF-7 III. Working on a video now from an audio get together we had yesterday comparing the RF-7, RF-7 II and RF-7 III. What a blast that was! Stay tuned.

All those horn tweeter sounds atrocious... Sorry. If I wanted pro audio speakers that's what I would have purchased. Wish they would make some with a traditional silk, aluminum or folded motion tweeter.
@Youthman
@Youthman 6 жыл бұрын
Klipsch does use titanium and titanium compression drivers for their tweeters...they just chose to add a horn in front of it. Most people either love the sound or hat it. You are of the later and that’s ok. Plenty of other manufacturers out there to suit your taste. I’ve owned several B&W speakers and am currently reviewing the SVS Ultra Tower. B&W and SVS both use “traditional” tweeters. My ears prefer the detail that the horn provides.
