It's crazy how jam packed with information Misa Sensei's videos are. You can never _not_ learn anything new with her.

Actually I passed the N3 without knowing this nuance… but really glad that I watched this as it has always been one of those things that bothered me whenever I would come across these phrases. Feels good to have a solid understanding of it now. Thank you for making this video. Super clear now.

I listen to Misa's videos in the background of other tasks I am performing. I Didnt think it was working for me until I watched an old TOHO Kaiju movie that wasn't English dubbed. Turns out I know more words and phrases than I thought. My problem is recalling these words and phrases on my own and reciting them. Thanks Misa.

Where I live in Australia at the moment the people collecting the rubbish sometimes check whether you put things in the correct bin, and will leave a card to tell you if you made a mistake. It might be silly, but I always feel happy and proud when I see the green smiley face that says we did it correctly lol, like a kid getting a sticker for doing good work
thanks - - I just gave you 5 Starts on YT survey... since you're so helpful\Informative!

みさのおかげで日本語の文法を勉強するのは楽しいです。教えてくれてありがとうございます でも、質問があります。この例文は正しそうですか? 「運動するようにしているけど、いつも失敗してしまう僕は。ま、日本語を勉強のは全部の時間がかかったよ 」 特にこれ、「全部の時間がかかった」= "it cost all of my time" does it mean this? im sorry does any of my japanese make sense?

Im really suprised that "Shu ju tsu" it's considered a difficult to pronounce word, it's quite easy for me, or at least not harder than any other word in Japanese.

One of the things I often struggle with in Japanese is that patterns like this where you're talking about yourself can't be used or must be modified when you're talking about someone else. Can we use this pattern to say someone else decided / makes a habit of, or it was decided that someone else would do something?

This was so helpful! I've been going crazy trying to figure out the differences between ことにする, ことになる, and ようにする. I do have a question. What if the subject of the sentence is not the speaker? Can I say みさ先生はカナダに行くことにした to mean "Professor Misa decided to go to Canada"? Do the same rules about ことにする and ことになる apply?

Could you do an expanded video on KOSOADO words if you haven't already? I saw your really old one on これ, それ, and あれ (the one from 2015) but I'd like one that covers words such as こいつ, こちら, こんな, and so on.

Just for those wanting some information. I'm black Canadian/Caribbean/Trini. In all of the black people's houses that I have ever been in Canada, in the Caribbean and the USA, we all take off our shoes at the door. To me, this is not a cultural difference, however, it is just dirty if you don't take your show off at the door.
