You're videos on ばかり/ だけ / しか have been so helpful. Thank you! So, if I understand correctly, it'd be: だけ - only, just, no more than; しか~ない - nothing but; ばかり - merely, basically only a bunch of.

You know what else I like about Misa's lessons? She does not take anything for granted in our knowledge base. She goes step by step, with clear, simple examples (funny ones, at that!), which she then expands into ones we might encounter when listening to other people. Then, there is a solid repetition in her grammar explanation. She also gives clear differentiation between forms that have nuances, so that a speaker or listener can get the finer meanings of what people are actually saying. I think her teaching style is aces!

Since I’m progressing to a more advanced Japanese、 lately I’ve been studying Japanese historical linguistics and Japanese language acquisition for my academic studies so I don’t study much grammar or kanji anymore , but with your videos you help me a lot Misa Sensei ! 私はミサ先生のおかけで日本語を習いましたよ!ミサ先生がいなければ、私は日本語が学んだことはなかったでしょう!

looking forward for this December JLPT. I cant believe exactly 2 years ago i was learning hiragana and now im N3 and slightly beyond. i started watching Misa-sensei lesson for fun, and now here am I. I do watch other Japanese sensei, but Misa-sensei always make it fun, and the things i learn here are relevant to real life use while other are focusing a lot on textbook style For this im very grateful. Thank you Misa-sensei.

I've heard "bakari" a lot, and sort of have a feel for it, but this lesson should be perfect! It will be nice to finally be able to grasp the proper meaning. Arigatou, Misa Sensei! P.S. The giant Pikachu desktop on the screen behind you makes quite the epic backdrop!

I know this lesson is about bakari and its usage, but the fact that I can now express how I got hooked on BOSS Coffee Rainbow Mountain Blend with -ni hamaru and now clearly have an addiction and it's a problem feels incredibly satisfying. Almost like this nice, warm can of BOSS Coffee Rainbow Mountain Blend I am cracking open. Thank you for yet another great and clear lesson!

So, 1) it's *figuratively* or *effectively* only, but not *technically* only. Like with “マスクばっかり売ります” - other things are being bought, but effectively, people are only buying masks 2) しか and だけ are for single things, individuals, or a specific group, while ばっかり is for groupings of things/people (generalisation) Also, 狙われている is a tongue-twister, aaaaaaaaaaaah!
