Some cyclists don't have cadence sensors, but want to base their training on cadence. Not a problem anymore!! This video gives you cadences ranging from 70rpm to 130rpm. If you have any ideas for future videos, feel free to send me and email at the.cyclist.canada@gmail.com!
You can use this video with your own personal workouts, ore with one of mine! (list of my workouts will increase with time):

Thanks for this! With my pedaling style right now, I think of myself as a big diesel engine--grinding massive torque at low RPM (40-60 probably up climbs) but I redline at about 90rpm and won't ever really go higher. Nevertheless, I think it might be good to practice some higher cadence to mix things up.

On the Street (Fixed gear) 50x17 @ 120 RPMs for around 28Mph ain’t shabby 110-120 is where I’m happiest riding, I’d prefer to be pushing a bigger gear On the street, but it’s quite hilly where I live, and plenty of traffic lights 😆 end result around 3mph

Bouncing in the saddle at higher RPM is because your saddle is too low.

Yeah, his saddle seems to be a bit low, but couldn't this be just cause he isn't used to it?
@nomoons
@nomoons 2 жыл бұрын
@@Gadottinho sure, could be, there are general guidelines for proper knee extension, but everybody should ride however they like as long as it doesn't cause them pain. I just know that when my saddle is too low, I be bouncing and it makes me feel unsafe at higher speeds. Also I ride fixed gear, so it's more difficult to slow down when my knees are too bent and I don't use my larger leg muscles as much.

90rpm with crank 34 and sprocket 12 is going to give you around 32km/h (depending on tire width), while 34 with 28 is going to give you around 14km/h. Hope it helps you.

Cadences above 90rpm only waste energy, swaying your body left and right.
@sakke9493

Yes, that is true if you haven't practiced whit a higher cadence but if you put some time and effort into it you can easily in my opinion and experience maintain a 120 Cadence whit out bouncing around.

@@injesusname3732 Well, the thing is there is no solid data/research on optimal cadence. But in my opinion, you are better of riding 100+ cad. The reason being is that your legs will feel fresh all the time and you can easily sprint if someone tries to sneak away from the pack.
@injesusname3732
@injesusname3732 4 жыл бұрын
@@sakke9493 Depends what kind of riding you're doing. The only benefit I see with a high cadence (not necessarily over 100), is cutting through wind with slightly less resistance and maintaining up hills. You burn way more energy pushing high cadence then you would with a bigger chainring, maintaining the same speeds, with less energy waste. Depends on your physical condition. But so many times I see noobs pushing high cadences trying to get 30-40kph, while i float by at half the cadence.
