I bought a w204 200cdi 2008 model few months ago and I love it! Absolutley good interior guality and good diesel consumption. I had only to replace break pipes because they leaked break fluid. I bought mercedes used from the dealer so they fixed it for me free. Thank you for this video and respect from Finland!🇫🇮

Got this car for 13 years now (bought it new in 2007). The only issue I had was that the rear lights tend to break fast. The problem was in the plastic of the lamp holder witch tended to melt. Also the light itself breaks at the base connector and not on the wires. There are no issues to report on the 220 cdi engine. Regular maintenance and no brush washes made the car to be in a good shape after 330.000km

I have a 2011 C300 with none of those engines...mine has a 228HP V-6. I have over 90K miles now (bought it at 28K) and the only thing I replaced was an alternator and new accelerator pedal/module. Otherwise it's been about perfect. I checked it out for reliability on Consumer Reports before buying and am glad I did.

Most of the ones with the m271 engine can be susceptible to timing chain issues. Check if it had been replaced before. At 100k it can already become stretched. Don't wait till 300k...

@@darius3352 if you’re choosing diesel you will have a LOT less issues with mileage- try to find something under 200k km - well maintained diesel motor should run well up 400k plus. Wear and tear on the coolant system should be looked at. You should check out videos on dealing with ESL issues. On the whole, my ride has been pretty good - brakes tend to wear faster .(probably due to how I drive). Most decent mechanics are able to service your car - avoid Marc dealership service. My local mechanic charged $300 - local Marc dealership charges $1200 for the same service! Golden rule would be to lay a small amount of cash aside each weak on top of your normal car budget - you may never need it but you’ll be glad you have it

After searching for a while i got a C220 CDI 170HP OM646EVO from 2007 in Elegance trim with 217 000KM. Imported from Italy. In a typical italian fashion the car looks good but has poor equpment. In total with registration it costed me 4500EUR. The best car i ever got, it is a manual 6 speed it has lether interior and has automatic 2 zone ac. Small stereo but i dont care it sounds awesome. I just hate that my country taxes cars over 2L that heavly. 500EUR for registration. I have to note that i do all the work myself on the car, i paid it 3500EUR, import 200eur and the rest was a service and few suspention parts. So far so good. Used Mobil oil as factory recommends. MAN filtersas well. Really happy with the car

I own a 2012 c350 CDI and have done for nearly 5 years, had a strange elec fault which was the fuse box on the side of the front battery, cost £200 to change it. Had no other problems at all in 50000 miles, eats tyres, I change the rears every year but that’s because of 265 hp and wet roads, great car which has plenty of grunt. Just buy one

2009, c180, 4 cylinder, at 123k miles, timing chain COGS, teeth shredded, replaced just cogs. I was lucky, it happened, while in my garage, while idling, and then it wouldn't start. I also upgraded tiny screen, to 8 inch android touch screen. The thermostat also stuck open, I replaced. I made a little video)

I've owned a C250 AMG line (Diesel) for the last two years, it's been nothing but trouble. I've changed a lots of engine sensors which constantly fail, the water pump is leaking, the following items don't work: CD player, drivers heated seat, air con. I've had to remove the DPF and jet clean it to remove the soot. The brak pipes are rusting and need replacing. The Foed Galaxy I had before this was trouble free.

My CLK 220 CDI 2007 has done 234000 Mls No Issues Full MB Service History up to 218000 miles from then on used Independent MB or do every thing myself . I won’t change it looks in Mint condition inside and I have just put New Pirelli Tyres on which I’m sure give a better ride .I expect it to pass Mot in May with Flying Colours !

If anyones buying one with the 2.1 diesel engine, watch out for these things plastic trim being loose, all hoses either coming away or being loose, turbo exaust gas leak, rod knock, oil leaks, when the timing equipment was last changed And finaly when checking any of the facelifted W204's, always check the rear break disks, rear brake back plates for rust and fauling of the disk, This can usually give a rattle or a rubbing sound as you drive along and can sometimes mean you need new handbrake shoes and shoe springs

I have one. Theres only 2 problems with the car after owning for 3 years and at 123k miles, the drivers seat is torn and the right mirror signal is dodgy from a bad seal letting water in. Mbtex is good and bad. It looks new after 10 years or its ripped. Overall its been a great car with just scheduled maintenance.

you can buy it with the 4matic system with no problem even if you don't have snow in winter, it is useful not just in the snow but in the rain as well, so you won't have wheel spin while acceleration, of course, it's not necessary in your country and you will get slightly bigger fuel consumption + approx 0,5 l, but as I said you can buy it with no worries, just check for whining, growling or howling noises from the front and rear differentials while cruising, accelerating and while you let off the gas, the car should ride without these noises or vibrations which can indicate low differential fluid level or worn differentials in the worst case the 320 diesel as well as the c180 are good engine choices, so if you are travelling more/long distances then choose the diesel engine and if you are doing short trips or mainly short trips then choose the petrol engine

Nice car but in every aspect inferior to the E90 BMW, in 2007 I had to decide which I buy W204 or E90, and the Mercedes in the interior feels a bit more cheap and plasticy than the BMW, even when you buy the Avantgarde line. Dont get me wrong it is a very good car but paying the extra ~4000€ premium for the Merc wasnt justified.

avantgarde isnt rlly for luxery its more like a sport version (thats why the avantgarde model is called sport in england)

Looking to buy a used 2010 C350, I've heard that ESL is known and eventual failure. Is there a MY that fixes this issue?

Ben Green just got the ESL prob a week ago picked the car up today, cost me a $1000 bucks, same thing happened to my brothers car he has the exact same model. ESL will fail at one point or another in this car especially in a used one if it has not already been replaced previously. I don't think there is any fix for this except to go the dealership. I wouldn't recommend buying this car but If you really wanna buy it make sure the ESL has already been replaced by the previous owner otherwise you'll have to pay for it yourself in the future

the w203 c280 interior was much better than the w204. My w203 very reliable no problems. I drove a w204 hated it. cheap cheap cheap. Mercedes also fixed one recall so I wouldn't have issues with the balance shaft failure and its only on certain w203 models. Not all w203 model engines had this balance shaft issue.

The only w204 c class I like are from 2010-2014. They have the better interior compared to older w204

that would be 2012-2014, I like the old one, its simple yet still luxurious and holds up very well, it may look cheap but everything is tight and solid.

wait, I leased a 2015 version and this car goes crazy with chipped paint, the passenger led fog lamp broke, many other cars on the road are missing lights, and water loves to get in the tail pipe after car wash. Nice car, but too many high maintenance exterior issues and must be washed every 3days!

I have one 1.8k with 85.000km . On high speed on motorways when I am pushing the engine I have detected a huge loss of power and the engine starts shaking. Once you turn off the car and start it over, the problem of the shaking engine deseapear. Once I push the engine back to high speed will happen again the power loss. Anyone w the same problem? My one is a c Class 200 kompressor 2009 model. Observation: anyone doesn't like to push the engine will never discover the problem.

The facelifted W204 is pure gold. Interior is superb. I'd pick it over the B8.5. However, I'd go for B9 over W205 any day.
