So there are a couple of reasons why your complaint that the gearing isn't tall enough isn't anything to worry about. 1. Unlike most other baggers it is chain drive... which means that you can change the gearing easy peasy by just putting a smaller tooth sprocket on the back or a larger tooth sprocket on the front.... or both if you want a really big change. With it's big power and low weight it can easily handle taller gearing. 2. The bike was designed to rev higher than your typical Harley type cruiser so even if you don't want to change the sprocket it won't hurt the bike in the least. So if you are someone who is interested in the Rebel 1100 go for it. If you dont like the gearing you can change it easily and cheaply. It's not even worth mentioning.

I own a Rebel1100 and I've seen the 1100T. The bike itself is great. The hard bags are not bad, but you can get better aftermarket. Same with the batwing. Honestly if they wanted to get these flying out the door it would be super easy, give this bike the silver wing treatment. Everything from the bags to the fairing are all better on that bike and then you just adjust the trunk for a passenger and boom these are flying out the door. As it sits now this is just an 1100 with bags.

Yep, good points. Still, having spent a week with both, if I was in the market I'd probably just get the T for the convenience and then look to accessorize it to my needs.
@nomercy4521

What kind of better fairing can you get aftermarket? The biggest problem I see is that none of the aftermarket fairings have the cuts to equalize the pressure near your helmet, which prevents buffeting. The smaller Honda fairing has the cut out, the large one on the T has the cut out, Indian and Harley are doing it on theirs.
@AyaWetts
@AyaWetts Жыл бұрын
@@nomercy4521 buffeting isn't the same for everyone... depending on your height, the windshield and angles, it could be fine. The way I have my Memphis Shades batwing fairing set up, I get no buffeting.

There's a reason they didn't make a bigger tank. After 2 hours on that seat you need to get off for a few minutes. Other than the seat, my only complaint was the small hand grips. I added foam grips that went over the stock grips. That made them a little thicker and reduced the vibration. I love my 2023 1100t.

I haven’t been on a bike 🏍️ in a few years and I’m anxious to get back out there, so this or the Goldwing are my only bigger bike options. Thank you for helping me make my decision. For those who don't like the cramped riding position, I imagine it's easier to raise a seat than lower one. I suppose one could get a sprung seat for it which would also help with the bumps. I'm getting older and am looking for a lightweight, lower seat bike with some rain protection and bags. Baggers make practical bikes in my opinion.

Living in Europe i would absolutely consider a smaller more aggressive bagger. I agree though that Honda cut corners with this. Bigger fuel tank and slightly adjusted ergonomics would be perfect for this. The fuel tank is self-explanatory, but higher sitting position, one or 1.5 inch, wouldn't make it any less friendly to short riders, but would make it more friendly to rider's back and elevate a lot of issues with being cramped.

Even before you commented it the seating looked awkward to me. I´m 184cm from top to bottom so about the same size, and as an older geezer at 65 I get cramps in legs and back if I sit still for too long. I have an old Vulcan which I otherwise like very much but the seating is getting to me more and more every year so I propably have to do a trade in or sell/buy one of these years. Thanks to you I can cross the Rebel from my list. Why do they have to shrink the bikes in Japan? Is it to force bigger guys to buy expensive and foolish looking (personal view) adv bikes? This or the AF Twin dct, based on the fact that I would only have the opportunity for off-road riding about 5 times a year right now, I'm going with the 1100 DCT with all the add on's. If they DO recreate Silverwing (not as scooter as currently) these are my speculation 1. Core platform (engine, transmission, parts of frame etc) most likely between CB500, Hornet 750, OR Rebel 1100 2. Taking the rear plastic from 1100T would be amazing 3. However, if they released it in 1100 platform it would compete with 1100 too much, so most likely the former two

I want a silver wing scooter. The Suzuki Bergman put the Yamaha majesty and Honda silver wing out of business. Though the silver wing is slightly better it cost more. I had the burgman and the only problem is the belt snaps and they make it impossible to change yourself well the 400 at least the larger one has a chain. And on my model the tires were too small but the new ones are slightly larger so don’t know about those. All kinds of people have large scooters like a silver wing or burgman in Florida or in Europe or Japan but in other states it’s too cold to use as transportation and a scooter isn’t cool enough for leisure riders but I really liked it.

Rebel is good for short trips, but long trips its just too small, too small of tank, and the chain is horrible for long distance. I've done thousands of miles in long trips on my Rebel 1100 where I added my own bags and fairing... and I'd choose basically any other "touring" bike... I've done a few trips on a Vulcan Voyager, and its night and day difference how much nicer it is traveling on that thing.

In the last 4 years, I've added 7 bikes to my garage; 6 of them were brand new and the Grand America is an '18, purchased in '19 with a couple thousand miles on it. I am happy with the bikes, but I don't think that any of my bikes should cost what I paid for them, standing on their own.

I actually seen one of these in the wild here in Oklahoma, USA where I’m at and from a distance, it looks acceptable if not, fairly impressive. Personally, I would have a blast on a bike like this even though I ride a Harley. I love the idea of a “bagger” but not the weight or the price. Couple that with the handling and performance and this would be more my style. The only problem is I’m not interested in DCT. I’m not against it at all, but if I had my choice, I want a traditional manual transmission with a clutch. Which is not an option in the states, HONDA! WTH? That’s a big mistake unless they are trying to NOT sell them in America? The vast majority of people who want a bagger, even a baby bagger, want a clutch too. That decision will absolutely impact sales of this model here. Big mistake, imo.

@@YouMotorcycleI have to say that the nostalgic feeling you get with a 250 125 or 50 is kinda like when you were 4 and got your first big wheel or 8 and first BMX. Everyone starts at the cradle. I have fond memories of the Honda nighthawk 250 I got to use at the MSF course. Noticed one sold at a dealership recently and can't find any. My first bike was a Buell blast 500. From there I went down cc instead of up but my next bike could be this one.

Why are bike manufacturers so hung up on high pipes. They do nothing but cut down on the available space for the bags. What is wrong with the traditional low pipes, it is not a scrambler after all.
