Whatever you do, stay away from the Mustang Solo seat if you are 6ft or taller!! It pushes you forward and closer to the gas tank! I have one and the riding position is tolerable on long rides, but I am saving up for the Corbin. I know, for the price, the Corbin should make me coffee every morning!! However, my knees and hips are screaming for comfort! The Mustang Solo is much more comfortable than the original “Preparation H” seat that the bike came with from the factory! So Corbin it is. Awesome video guys. 👍
@redhenracing26 ай бұрын
I agree. The oem brown seat is a little better than the original, but it's still not even close to having a proper seat. The Corbin gives a little bit of that forward lift, but the lift is more than the forward if you know what I mean. It doesn't push you up onto the tank
@heidistucki13095 ай бұрын
On my Rebel 500, I did have the Corbin seat. After a year it felt like I was sitting on the frame, then I bought the Mustang seat. The Coffman exhaust was loud enough for me and so the baffle was left in. No problems with the paint job either. The risers wouldn't have been enough for me, since I'm a small person. So, the dealership ordered new handlebars at the time of purchasing the bike. Forward controls were purchased from Thailand to fit with the crash bars. The Italian forward controls wouldn't have fit with the crash bars. I had exchanged the Rebel 250 mirrors and put them on the 500. The old mirrors are better Also put deer whistles on all of our bikes. You did a nice presentation of all of your modifications!

I have the handle bar risers on order and I just picked up a pair of “Rebel” wide foot pegs in black to keep with the totally blacked out look of the bike! Also, just after I purchased my Rebel last August, installed a TPM (tire pressure monitor) system that I got from Amazon on my bike and it has worked flawlessly for almost a year now and it’s extremely accurate when I compare the readings to a regular tire pressure gauge. It’s spot on and the I only need to charge the battery in the main unit every 5+ months! I highly recommend it! 👍

It even has an audible and flashing alarm if one or both of my tires should start to lose pressure below the psi that I set. So if I catch a nail and get a slow leak, it will let me know. It also works if my tires become over inflated above the psi that I set. The setup is not difficult and the directions are pretty easy to understand. It took me roughly 20 minutes to complete everything including the sensors install. Also it’s waterproof! 👍

Great review! The quad lock is a great phone mount however I prefer the Eowihor. Weird name, great phone holder. It's a cradle you simply drop your phone into then hit the lever on the side to close the cradle tight around the phone. There have been times I forget to hit the lever and it still securely holds held my phone. It's adjustable for most phone sizes & has multiple ball mounts that come with it at no additional charge and it's very inexpensive, around $18. Having the ball mount allows you to quickly rotate your phone with one hand. It allows you to use your existing phone case, as long as it isn't over 9.25 cm wide (The Galaxy 20+ is 7.8 cm wide).

I went through the speed wobbke problem. The Rebel 500 at above 80 mpg no wobble. When I got the 1100, I started to wobble at 80 and got worse as I wanted to ride faster. A guy at work told me to check my tire pressure, so I used my foot like on a car. Lol Feels fine to me. Tire is hard no way the tire pressure. Brought it to the dealer crying my 1100 no faster than 500..😭 Aked me if I checked my tire pressure. I said yes, same as a car ... "Do you use a tire pressure gauge." Of course not... Then, the mockery ensued. I was persistent with the mechanic, a track race guy, and an instructor. I was prepared to retun the bike if it wasn't fixed. " Well, I can't drive over the speed limit ." Lol yah sure... Got the bike back, and he said, "Tire pressure.." Then he said you need a tire pressure gauge digital and a small compressure. make sure your tire pressure is always good. Went for a ride and no wobble... I felt stupid because it was... Lol

Hey, sorry for the late reply. We did a viral and some stuff got lost in the sauce I did notice that a bit on Roby's bike, but mine doesn't do it at all. i test drove a rebel 1100T dct today. very powerful and can see it would be a very fun bike to ride, but literally 5 minutes in, my butt started hurting and i'm wearing skiveez! at least on the 750x, i can go 45 minutes without my butt starting to hurt with skiveez on. incredibly uncomfortable! and you can't fit a helmet into the saddle bag. you can fit a helmet in the "frunk" on the 750x. 2 big dings against the rebel. i'm sticking with the 750x
@redhenracing2Ай бұрын
The 750x is a very different machine, certainly more suited to adventure touring purposes. The Rebel absolutely needs a different seat, I wasn't on Roby's long enough to tell a difference between the stock and SE seat or whatever it is that he has, but the Corbin makes a WORLD of difference.

@redhenracing26 ай бұрын
I just throw money at things and see what sticks My biggest switch-up was the exhaust, I started with a Shorty GP which just sounded and looked cheap. Even though the finish on the V&H is wack, it's still my favorite look and sound by far. And I thiught the Puig windshield would do a lot more than it did, but when Roby sent me this Gauntlet for Christmas I saw immediately that the Puig was inferior. Hopefully it'll get paint-matched soon, but I have a lot going on with the Supra and in the middle of race season with the Miata, so probably won't see the Rebel again for a while.

Have you ever experienced any hopping from the front end of your bike? I'm 200lbs 5'9 and I have basically maxed out the preload on the front and rear shocks. However, once I get to 52mph (consistently) the front end of the bike starts shuddering. I've put a brand new set of Metzler cruisetec tires on front and back and it's still happening! I started to wonder if I was too heavy for the bike, but 200lbs isn't crazy. I've got it booked in with my dealership because I actually think something could be wrong with the front shocks, because the bike shouldn't be doing this, but curious if you ever experienced any quirks, as a gentleman of your build?

I'm a new owner of a 2023 1100 DCT 🤪. This whole automatic thing is so weird to me. First off, I'm a baller on a budget & I have champagne 🍾 taste with beer 🍺 money 😮💨... I believe the exhaust swap is 1st. I'm looking into the shorty GP because it's roughly a $50 bill and maybe they'll take food stamps 🤷🏼. I'm also considering a TBR slip on because I like the sound of it as well. I need my tunes and have a Bluetooth helmet, but I've been looking into mountable speakers that wire into the battery, only problem is the handlebars don't give you that much space to work with on this rig. If there was a DM option I would've already slid in 🕺🏼to really get your advice. Anyhoo, lemme know what cha think. Great video guys!

@@redhenracing2 Welp, I rode it for about an hour yesterday and so far, muscle 💪🏼 memory still has me grabbing for a lever that isn't there. Whenever I stop at a stop light I want to hold the clutch so it doesn't stall on me. It has quite a bit of pep that sends me back into the seat. I'm a muscular 5-08, approximately 219 lbs (slimming slooooow). I like that my feet can actually touch the ground. I wanted to go back to your video to find some inexpensive mirrors, because I can't see shit out of the bicycle stock mirrors. Ooo...I pissed the dealership off because I was adamant there was a type C USB port on the 1100. They argued with me and I even showed them the Honda site that proves it. We watched videos, and went to Google and finally a video on KZbin showed where it was. I found it so crazy dealerships don't even know they're own products. One less thing I need to buy. I want to put some front sliders but not necessarily the full crash bar setup. I want to install some fog lights and mount them to the slider pegs but I'm having no luck finding anything like that. I'm literally am learning as I go as the dealershit didn't teach me about the bike at all other than the basic, they called it a powerful moped scooter 🛴. I just noticed, I don't even have an owners manual 😮💨

@@redhenracing2 Good evening sir. I've had a chance to ride for a bit with the new risers on, and they are amazing. I can now sit upright, instead of canted slightly forward as before, and my elbows are bent some, so it's quite comfortable. I'm having to get used to the new riding position, since it puts pressure on different parts of my butt than previously. The risers also put the mirrors up higher, so I get a better field of view as my elbows aren't in the way so much. All in all, I'm very pleased with them. For reference, I'm more torso than legs due to a smaller inseam than you'd expect from a six foot guy.

Yo ! I’m in WA as well and appreciate you guys taking the time for these videos. I just bought a ‘22 rebel 1100 DCT and my credit card is popping off for add-ons to this bike 😂 I do have some questions tho. 1) How tall are you guys? I’m 6’1” and I’m torn whether to get the Trex peg ext, or the Burly pegs? 2) Will the shorty exhaust burn my wife who wants to ride passenger? 😅 3) Have you seen the Trex headlight cover? I have one but unsure if it could interfere with your choices of the windshields ?
@redhenracing23 ай бұрын
1) we are both 6-1, 6-2 and I definitely have switched sides on footing. The Burly MX pegs are the shit, and I'll be seeing if I can fit them to the BlackBird as well. 2) if you're talking about the GP Shorty style exhaust, that just puts out right off of the header pipe(like I was running in our first Rebel video), it should be able to be angled away from the rear footrest. But it looks and sounds really bad compared to either of these, you should consider the V&H if they ever put it back into production 3) I am aware of it, but haven't looked at it closely. If it fits tightly around the silhouette of the light, it shouldn't interfere, but I can't say for sure.

@@redhenracing2 You need a little more preparation when filming. And an audio recorder with a built-in compressor - that will make a huge difference. If the recorded audio is clipping, then there's not much you can do to save it.
@redhenracing26 ай бұрын
@@_nopestr do you have any recommendations? The Sony mic I mentioned in the video only acts like that at higher speeds when wind noise clips it out. It's the same mic as the footage on Roby's bike, just sitting in much lower speed traffic. It's being run off the gopro media mod on my chin mount. Audio quality is one of the next things we are going to start pushing on for our production quality, as it has presented itself as a weak link a few times now. If you have any experience with in-helmet stuff particularly I'd love to hear it
@_nopestr6 ай бұрын
@@redhenracing2 In that case, maybe it's the wind messing with it at speed, and you just need to put a dead cat on that mic. It's worth a try before you shell out on an external recorder and a different mic.
