Great job Dr. Cutbirth, Texas is where the real surgery is at! I'd say most dentists would run from this case, Texas docs are built different! Great stuff thank you sir!

Great videos! I'm on my last year studying to become a dental hygienist, so even if these videos don't help me with my work, I still enjoy watching and learning something new.

Look up why impacted wisdom teeth should be extracted on Google.
@smilingdentist Жыл бұрын
IMPACTED word is self explanatory. Wanted to know case specific reason , Google was not required for it.
@centerforard Жыл бұрын
Impacted wisdom teeth can damage the second molar teeth in front of them and the sac surrounding the impacted wisdom tooth can form into a dentigerous cyst, which could then form into an ameloblastoma and cause the bone in the patient's jaw to resorb, to name just a couple of the reasons for impacted wisdom tooth extraction.

Isn't it great that you do not have to exceed the bounds of your training and comfort. You can always refer cases that are outside your comfort zone to those qualified to perform the treatment. These are definitely difficult cases that require training and judgement. It's like the medical profession. One physician does not perform all treatments. Take your practice to the Top Tier. Next time try to do a realese incision on the midle of the second molar and a reale on distal. You will have better vision.
@centerforard7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. This is the method I was taught in my oral surgery fellowship years ago and is the classic incision method for mandibular third molars. It provides for better healing of the incision than using a releasing incision. For me, this method provides adequate vision. The issue which makes the extraction difficult is the angle of the third molar. There are sometimes more that one method to accomplish a procedure I am filming. I try to demonstrate one technique that works well. Take your practice to the Top Tier. I do like all your videos, minus this one, the flap design could be way cleaner and better.
@centerforard Жыл бұрын
I show you what I do. I do not try to pick just the ideal cases for the videos. There is probably some aspect of every case that could be a little better. Dentistry practiced at any level is difficult but practiced at a high level is probably even more difficult. I do not want dentists watching these videos to think I am perfect and do not have to deal with the same issues all of you do. Luckily, I have enough training and experience that I can make cases turn out nicely even if there are complications. Take your practice to the Top Tier.
