As jealous as I am of the gold nuggets you find, I'm even more jealous that you have such an awesome wife that loves to go hunting for gold in the remote places of Australia as much as you. 😢

Mate, you must give up that name, it's holding you back 😁. Yes I've very fortunate to have a permanent fossicking/prospecting partner. It makes treks into far off destinations much easier and therefore the chance of finding treasure is much more likely.

The Missus was right on the money with the weight of the nugget ha ha! Nice one guys ;-)

Thanks Tripplebacon, yes the suspence grows as you get closer but more often than not it ends up being a chunk of lead or some other junk.

Nice find Moneybox....... What settings are you using ?
@moneybox57334 жыл бұрын
Hi Manny, I don't change my settings much. Usually RX Gain 12, Stabilizer 16, Tracking Fixed, Audio Tone 40, Target Vol 5, Vol Limit 1 or 2 if it's windy. Almost always Enhanced because we can't run Normal in WA. Even when I change coils my settings remain the same.

Gpx 4500 Gpz 700 Which model is better for this?
@moneybox5733 Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I'm very poor at replying. Ten years on and the jury is still out on that question. I've been swinging a GPX6000 for the last two seasons and my nugget count is up but my gold weight is only half of the GPX4500 annual total. This season I expect to spend a lot more time swinging the old detector.

Beautifull landscape on that trip! What part of Australia? Hey is that Fiskars scope naturally worn down or have you grinded it smaller!?
@moneybox57337 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Bothen , We were i the Western Australian Pilbara. The area is very remote but that's where you have to go these times to get less worked ground. Yes the old scoop is badly worn so it's been retired to a spare now.

@@moneybox5733 I used to live in Karratha. As soon as I saw the spinifex & red dirt, I knew exactly which part of the country you were in... That Pilbara dirt is hard to dig, isn't it? Cheers and thanks for the video.

Mate get yourself an elite or an evo coil,cause you will be missing gold.Cheers and goodluck.
@moneybox57337 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice. We went too late in the season and the temperature was too high. Using the new 11" spiral wound mono coil was like trying to detect under a tree full of budgerigars. The 11" Commander mono could be operated quietly making detection of a faint signal much easier.
