When I was a young teenager around 1969 it was popular to collect the pull tabs, link them together, and make long chains out of them and hang them in your bedroom. It looked cool and I would even hang small stuffed animals off the chain. So all these cans you're pulling out are really bringing out memories for me. Have you been able to date that Japanese army soldier you found? Is that and the bazooka guy dating back to the 1960s or the 1940s before the war? I think you found a good spot, Rocks. Keep digging around that spot!
@rockscousteau3 жыл бұрын
Yea I can remember all that. The girls on my street when I was little had pull tab door beads and belts...I can remember it. I even remember pull tab cans....I was little though. I can just remember I could never open them so I wouldnt cut myself
@77Shiloh73 жыл бұрын
@@rockscousteau Those were good days ...fun...and creative times. I loved bottles even then . I would find unusual shaped bottles and fill them with food coloring and put them in my bedroom window. I even loved playing with Plastic Army Men ...back in the early 1960's...I would get a squirt Gun and shoot them down or bomb them with water Balloons . Haha. I can actually remember taking Coke bottles in a little wagon to a local grocery store and getting some change for them and usually buying a box of Cracker Jacks for a dime ! Memories to treasure ! And, You dig up memories , Rocks ! Thank you !

With the shorts and hat, my money is that the bazooka dude is supposed to be Australian, although they never used a bazooka in WWII. They had a shorter thing... Sorta spring-powered launcher, a spigot mortar I've heard it called, that flung a shaped charge projectile. The PIAT (Projector, Infantry, Anti-Tank).

If I were you I would take out the better aluminum cans. You can soak them in hot water to get the mud off and then use something like a pair of long pliers with rubber handles to get the dents out of the cans. I do it all the time. The cans look brand new. People would probably buy them for a dollar or two afterwords.
