Do you get to keep the Tyrannosaurus rex teeths? Or do they have to be donated to be studied.
@TheFossilFiend2 жыл бұрын
We keep them unless something special that needs to be studied

What’s the main difference between T. rex and Nanotyrannus teeth? Is it the size, or something else?
@TheFossilFiend Жыл бұрын
sorry for the delay, Nano teeth are much more gracile in nature. Thinner, smaller and they have a pinch in the base . The Nano teeth are also generally almond shaped, where rex teeth are much thicker and rounder.

Hi and great video! Me and my dad are visiting the Dakotas for the first time this week and want to try fossil hunting. We have been fossil hunting in our home state of texas but the method is very different. Do you have any advice or tips to help us have the best chance of success on our trip? We hear the badlands were a good start but it is a huge park and we don’t know where to even start looking there 😂
@TheFossilFiend2 жыл бұрын
First, a caution... The Badlands park is ILLEGAL to remove fossils from. You aren't even supposed to touch any that you see. There are tons of fossils in the White-River formation that makes the park, but you will have to get permission for where it is private property first (not easy on short notice). You are allowed to collect non-vertebrate fossils from non-park, public lands. You will need a GPS map to know where those are. I highly recommend the phone app called "ON X" for land ownership maps. If you want to talk deeper about the area and fossils, send me an email at RedDirtFossils@gmail.com

I still argue pineapple does not belong on pizza! 😂
@TheFossilFiend Жыл бұрын
I shall defend to the end, that not only does pineapple belong on pizza, that is how the dinosaurs enjoyed it also! 🤣 We shall duel at the dig this year!
