Not to mention that Paildramon was only an ultimate level digimon against a mega level digimon. Blackwargreymon didn't even need the dramon killer weapons.

Honestly, it always seemed like the 02 writers pretty much forgot about the Dramon Killers, or at least heavily ignored them. Anyway, these were a thing only in the first season where two of the main enemies happened to be Dramons, outside of that Dramon Killers were pretty much nothing in anime. For example, did WarGreymon even use them in 2020 version ?

They didnt forget. The Egg does not obey Davis' will as the other eggs do. So calling for it is a gamble. Also the form expires very quickly, so its not really efficient to deal with a Mega unless you can defeat it very fast.

@AcetonaSFX it can still be summoned as shown in the movies. However magnamon in the end isn't strong enough either (also because of its massive power drain if its not one's natural digivolution)

Magnamon was a bit weird one though since he didn't have much trouble with Cherubimon in the movie but he almost lost to Kimeramon who's definitely strong but shouldn't be comparable to Cherubimon.. Meaning if it would be a movie Magnamon he would definitely win but the version who fought Kimeramon is somewhat a questionable, however he finally needed a buff that was able to beat him.

Eh, had to give it a try at least. Also, they were fighting with armor stages for most of their time till that point, so the whole "power level" game was not in their knowledge... except for Hikari and Takeru. :|
