The reboot does a much better job of showing just how destructive and awe inspiring Ultimate and Mega stage Digimon are. As much as I like the slower kaiju type battles of Adventure, they lack some punch against, say, VemonMyotismon and the like. I think the reboot was at it's best during the battle with Eyesmon. A Champion stage being able to not only push back, but beat down six Ultimates is something I don't think has happened before. Additionally, Niddhogmon's Digivolution shows just how much energy and data it takes to achieve Mega. Something the original Adventure never really went into. It shows just how much of a cheat device the Digivices are. That said, 2020's main issue is formatting and playing it way too safe. Front loading the show with Digivolutions and stakes kills just how dire later circumstances are. The kids are thrown around like ragdolls and get barely a scratch on them. Tai and Agumon get *blown up* by MachineDramon and make it out just fine. There is no risk of the kids actually getting hurt, unlike Adventure. 2020 absolutely does a number of things very well, but it fails in basically every other department.

What I love about this series is that every partner gets a 'bad ass' moment. In the original series; we get that moment once per first-time evolution and after that they get defeated everytime after. This time we get to see every partner digimon get a clutch win against strong enemies.

​@@donovanlarsen7982 It's really hard to tell if Holy Angemon is stupidly strong as a Perfect level, or the situations he is put in are massively advantageous to him (or both). Some digimon have innate weaponry which is touched on very slightly by koushiro (izzy) in the OG adventures. IE: Wargreymon's claws are dramon killers that specialize in killing dragon types. Holy Angemon has excaliber which is really good at slicing up darkness digimon. It's like you have a really strong pegasus knight in Fire Emblem; you still don't want to be pitting them against archers. He has that one clutch moment against Pierrotmon, getting a clean hit with excaliber and setting up a really crappy position for said to get pinched between a cheesy insta-kill gate and everyone else attacking him at the same time. Then he gets sidelined like everyone else. Interesting debate to be had. If Holy Angemon did show up at my door though, I would still kill to get his autograph.

I love the dub of this anime hahaha i grew up on the original and now me and my son are watching through this and the originals and he loves both and digimon as a whole now. I will say that although the battles has been really great it was definitely going a bit to fast the first half but we are onnaround episode 40 right now and these last few episodes have been great at slowing down and showing the kids and digimon just hanging out enjoying each other and more interaction all together instead of just fight after fight and its now easily becoming one of my favorite anime

Am I mistaken, but didn't this artist also do an evolution theme back in Tamers? If so, that's pretty cool that they brought him back! With the dear Wada Kouji no longer available (and I do miss him, his voice was iconic!), it's great they managed to get a voice we still know for the new series :D (And if I'm wrong, ignore everything I just said XD)
