As someone who just got into the Digimon TCG, I'm excited to hear that Mastemon is up there! I've been a fan of the design since playing Cyber Sleuth and she was the first starter deck I chose.

I am new to the game, chose to pick up the Mastemon starter deck because I liked the art. Found out it was getting amazing support in this booster set. Can't wait to pick up the upgrades! Game is a ton of fun and was easy to pick up! I came from Yu-Gi-Oh (current format is dog), and I was surprised at how good the mechanics are. I am enjoying it so far, will try to upgrade my deck once I get my paycheck in! 😅

The Hina deck has a surprisingly good matchup against blackwargreymon as a sleeper counter, if you hit your boss monster first you can completely stop your opponent from digivolving without the xantibody option card and that means they cant blow up your board with hades or stop your next attack. Play a dobrikmon for three into ragna on the next turn and you can take the game pretty easy.

Definitely a great overview of what’s possibly to come! Definitely interested in seeing what Wargrey’X and Jesmon end up doing, and of course going to keep up on whatever BlackWarGrey’ becomes. …Still, I completely understand why Ragnaloardmon (what I ended up Stockholm’ing myself into) rarely ever comes up in conversation because of its general lack of results and its sparsely niche following. I love the absolute high-roller energy of making the biggest beat stick, but BlackWarGrey’ literally does its job more consistently and can even be a better shell for him than his own deck. :V

it feels like most black/red decks are a better way of getting Ragnalord out than Ragnalord's own deck lol. The just isn't enough useful LegendArms to go around. You end up with BT3 stuff that both is not tuckable, and also not two-color evo, making it super clunky. I hope there eventually comes another legend arms support wave that helps the starter deck playstyle

I admittedly haven't messed around with it. But other top players like Hoang Zero really like it as a fun combo OTK deck with the new stuff. Probably decent.

Unfortunately It's still ass. The top end with Justimon and all the variations of it, especially the Accel Arm, are actuall pretty good and the best part of the deck. But the deck suffers from a terrible lower end. The lvl 3's and 4's are not good at all. Monodramon as his primary level 3 has a very bad search and no inheritable. It should've gotten a decent black tamer related inheritable and a better search like searching your tamers AND a digimon card, not just tamers. Sunarizamon is a way better level 3 for the deck than it's own archetypes level 3 is and that's just sad. Strikedramon is the same card with the same search but on digivolving and at least with a pretty good inheritable for the deck but sadly it's also the only lvl 4 that's matching the concept of the deck and it's goal. There are generally not good black lvl 3 (except Sunariza) and 4 Digimon that harmonize with the deck well enough to make it viable, it's too clunky. And the tamer is mid too, the searching is fine but the 1K DP is weak. It should've been some form of memory gain to be honest to give the deck more consistency. And here again, Kazu is a way better tamer for the deck than the main tamer is. What the deck needs are better levle 3 and 4 options and a better tamer that has archetype related effects while offering consistency.

from the videos i've seen, and play testing that I have done Chaos/Machinedra is kind of the balance to BWG. The deck has a high win rate against BWG decks in bt11 but does mediocre against any other deck because of how clunky it is. But with set up decks like BWG it has almost all of the answers. multi-security atk, blocking, undying digimon, decent draw, good option, rush and blitz to end games. It has an answer to most of BWG play styles. It will be the counter pick to BWG

Im not sure counter pick but it definitely can go even. It kinda just depends on who draws the gas first. If your only on a machindramon stack bwg can just de digivole and swing over it. But if bwgx doesnt draw that well it can be alot more tedious to get rid of. Another possible play is de digivolve the chaosdramon and thengo into omni x and bot deck machidramon as it has no bounce protection. But like you said its a bit too clunky for other matchups. Thou machidramon+analog man does answer grandis somewhat

Also machinedramon has lots of decent draw and support now. with tamers that draw and discard, tamers that search and discard and digimon that draw and discard. it is a real powerhouse

Yep as an regular chaosdramon player i may not as skill as some of my friends analogman, Nicholas and mas lee but the problem we have with this deck is eather bricking or have our chaosdramon in security or like some gets double hades force lossing our sorce, as a chaosdramon player i would like to say be patiend for bt12 and RB (if its go wordwide) you have many support.

Unless the translation I read is wrong, Vemmon can reduce the digivolve cost into level 5 and 6, not level 4. It's definitely not higher than tier 2 tho, tier 3 feels like a good place for it. If it were a purple deck it'd easily be tier 1 tbh

@@DeepCDiva Lots of purple cards have really good self-mill, and since the deck wants to have a decent amount of Vemmon in the trash that self mill could help speed it up. If the deck had more self-mill effects it'd be much faster, but as it stands you can't really trash cards too efficiently unless you play Analog Youth or Pride Memory Boost.

You right. It is still good. People think because x4 and sunrise gone to 1 the deck cant do shit. Does the remaining 44 cards do nothing? Sunrise buster is replacable with other removal cards and x4 van replaced x3/x7

@TCGrodney89 there are plenty of ways to deal with the shoutmon deck. I would actually put galactimon above the shoutmon deck because it has so much control on the field and also has multiple lives. Shoutmon deck is still susceptible to blue digivolution control decks, security control decks, deletion decks, green suspension decks. Even otk and super aggressive decks can kill you before you can get all of the pieces you need to digixros. With the loss of having multiple x4s in the deck which had the ability to swing multiple times a turn, and given you had a tai out you could be swinging for security +1 which is a must since most of the matches I've seen with shoutmon are matches where they have to clutch up at the end (especially now since with x5 and x7 you need a lot more pieces unless you want to give your opponent a lot of memory). And the loss of having multiple sunrise buster which could let you put out a tamer and also pop an opponents digimon were big parts of the deck before. It's still effective but not as much as a lot of people think that it is.

Probably tier 2 or 1.5 I've been messing with it a bit and running it as a OTK Deck has been pretty effective. It has some really good matchups but still pretty fragile. It's ability to recover is now pretty insane though

@@shiranuiprestonsaga8867 *sigh* tier 1.5 is a ridiculous term. This is the only game I’ve ever played that people use that term. Tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, and rogue. Rogue decks being good, but not prevalent in the meta. Otherwise you could go with a letter system: S, A, B, C, D, F. But this games card pool isn’t quite large enough to use a letter system at the moment.

@@TripIn6 I would argue digimon is one of the few games that actually have room for that distinction though. The idea of 1.5 is the deck is more consistent and/or powerful then tier 2 but less powerful than tier 1. Putting wargreymon x in tier 2 from this pass meta would probably be a bad call cause it was either good or capable of beating Melga, bloomlord, and sec con. It had results but not on the level of melga and bloomlord. Comparing that to a tier 2 decks like gallantmon would be underselling the power of the wargreymon while overselling others. Like if wargreymon x is tier 2 then gallantmon is tier 3 because those decks are not on the same level. Wargreymon x is only a half step worse than Melga x or bloomlord, but that half step is meaningful and observable.

What would Aegisdramon need to become tier 2? I'm thinking some removal protection and also some cards that are blue and other colors specifically so you get different kinds of removal as opposed to just freezing, which makes the deck into a mix between LordKnightmon and Beelstarmon, where you board swarm but also use a toolbox to keep opponents off balance.

Don't remove bt5 Greymon, it's ability to gain a memory helps with tempo. This last local tournament a MelgaX player ended up losing a match because he didn't draw into bt5 Garurumon

I feel like I may have chosen a bad time to get into the game with Imperialdramon. Hadn’t bought anything ever since Gaia Red just ‘cause I didn’t know of any places that did anything with Digimon near me at the time, but recently bought the ancient dragon starter deck and have bought a bunch of new awakening packs. I am wanting to make a security control deck at some point and think I’m on a decent track to making BlackWarGrey X after pulling the SR BlackWarGrey, two metalgreys and a Greymon

Imperial is a good pick up right now. It's a very competent sleeper deck that can win you games even against the best decks do to how little the OTK requires.

It's definitely a slept on deck, feel that its within reason to be in 1.5 or 1. Feel a good number of people will initial start with trying to build it with the Zero loop which is rather trash before settling back to its mix with the Gaoga support and Vee's which will lead it to being a very memory control deck with consistent bounce that will burn through a lot of protections for those decks that have em, and just straight out tempo the rest.

Eh. I'll disagree with you on Mastemon, though I have yet to test it in BT11. Mostly on the grounds that BWGX is expected to be dominant. You can't just dodge that damn deck, and as such, I would rank it lower than tier 1.5, but definitely on the top end of tier 2. But what do I know, I don't even have locals and can only play online. It's a frustrating situation to be in.

Let’s hope not. It’s not even top contender with BWGx coming out. People have been testing where I live. Melga hard loses to BWGx and is often beaten by Gallantmon and SecCon. If they lose their stack it’s game over for them

I disagree with the placement of decks such as Bloomlord, Wargrey x and Ulforce. To me all 3 of them are t2 decks at best because they fall prey to BWG. Unforce can't play all that well into BWG, bloomlord has no game against it, also if you are playing the red base, it hard looses to crimson blaze, and wargrey x is significantly less powerful than his dark counterpart, not to mention far more bricky, not to mention that you won't be able to stick a cool boy on board. I also think underestimating d-reaper is a big mistake, as it can slow down the tempo of the game and it dodges a lot of BWG's removal.

The tier list isn't all determined by how the decks play against 1 particular deck in the meta though. Not every player will be playing BWGX and so its how the decks on average do against the majority of meta decks that places them on the tier list.
