Ryo is from the tamers universe IRL no? I mean the kids all know of him like he use to live there. So he ended up in seasons 1/2 layer. Or maybe. Ken went to the season 3 layer. Or another maybe. The layer where they both met might of been erased bc that's what happened in the wonder swan games so it's not either layer.

Ryo went to the Season 2 layer in order to help defeat Millenniummon, and later made his way back to the Season 3 layer where he met the Tamers.

Ryo is from the Adventure layer.After the D1 Tournament wich was a set-up by the Sacred Beasts to train him to fight Milleniumon in wich he had to sacrifice one of his partners after he defeats Milleniumon he is given a choice. Remain in the Adventure layer or go to Tamers and he took the 2nd.

So HolyAngemon's Heavens Gate attack opens a portal to another dimension which sucks evil beings through to Possibly the dark world. In theory, could this attack be tuned so it could move between layers of the digital world?

He actually had 3 gates. Hate of Destiny - opens a portal to the space between world's and dimensions, trapping evil in oblivion. Heaven's Gate - opens a gate that unleashing holy energy in a powerful beam to destroy evil. Great Golden Gate - created a two-way portal to allow himself and others to essentially teleport to other locations. The distance between the entrance and exit point or if it's capable of teaching other layers or even different dimensions (i.e. the human world) are unknown. So far, only close range teleportation has been seen (i.e. a few miles).

Sorry to say, but if it was a universe, then they'd show more than one planet in each incarnation. No reason to assume each one is a universe like ours.

KaiserTrigger Its a little tricky to understand. The Real World contains a multiverse, with different versions of Earth and such. Each versions of this Real World use data from in the Digital World, which connects it to these different universes. The Digital World, however, is a single universe made up of, I guess you could call them "layers" (as explained in Tamers). Think of the Digital World like a single video game, and the different layers are the different levels of this video game (Mario Galaxy would be a good comparison). The different versions of the Real World connect to different layers of the Digital World, but there are ways to get from one layer to another, this to different versions of the Real World as well (as revealed in Cris Wars/Fusion/Digimon Hunter). One method of doing this is using the do Myotisnon used to get from the Digital World to the Real World, with the different keycard combinations opening the door to different versions of the Real World.

@@KaiserTrigger It's been confirmed in the Xros Wars manga that the Digital World exists on a structural level above the Real World wich is a Multiverse and that even if all the processing resources in the universe were used it would still not be enough to process the digital world's data. Then you have cyber sleuth where the existence of parallel universes and parallel timelines with infinte branching realities is confirmed one for each new possibility.

Interesting theory though only one thing has never made sense - if those from the real world can be digitised as explained in season one by Koshiro/Izzy as exact copies of themselves remaining in the real world - how can a fully digital body such as a Digimon become manifest in the real world unless they already existed there? And as that is essentially the case - how could Taichi and Koromon manifest in the middle of the city of Tokyo, when his body was clearly out in the woodlands along with the others? If that theory is wrong then the technical term Digital Monster is inaccurate, yet it's confirmed legitimate as data being a constant - but data doesn't simply gather matter as complex as the periodic elements that make up life; in that case they would cease to be digital and become bound by the laws of real world physics. It's a contradictory paradox - either it's digital and thus cannot just become manifest, or the digital term regarding the digital world and it's digital inhabitants is a misnomer and thus there is no lore or a functional story.

The best explanation I can come up with is that when a Digimon goes to the real world, they manifest through the electrical currents in the air and the energy technology gives off, kind of like a hologram. Hence why when they Digivolve, technologygoes haywire, because they're drawing more power from their surroundings to increase in size and digital mass. Izzy's theory of their human bodies being a copy in the Digital World has some merit, as we've seen that they're bodies become Digital there, but return to flesh and blood in the real world. Digimon though remain as data even in the real world.

@@ViewerOnline101 Actually when a Digimon goes to the Real World a process called Re:Digitize happens in which a Digimon manifesting itself in the Real World uses pseudo proteins that follow its true form so that it is possible to equate its existence with that of Humans, although still being able to use their powers, although in a more "real" way. Gennai in Season 1 even states that data is the equivalent of atoms and molecules in our world,so it does "gather matter as complex as the periodic elements".

Yggdrasil actually exists in Frontier. Chronicle X revealed that the God that Lucemon rebelled against is none other than Yggdrasil. Basically Lucemon lived with God in the Kernel. Seeing how vicious and aggresive the fighting between Digimon was in ancient times and how multiple species were reaching extinction,Lucemon asked Yggdrasil to delete the fighting spirit from the digicores of the digimon but Yggdrasil refused and Lucemon rebelled against his creator. God in this case Yggdrasil divided three of his own aspects and gave one to each Archangel. They were created to face the rebelling Lucemon. Whatever happened to Yggdrasil in this layer is unknown. He would have done something? In Collectors Yggdrasil literally had a majority of the Knights absorbed by Arkadimon in order to give birth to Ogudomon and conduct an experiment in search for higher beings. You are overestimating him. Altough they are Holy Knights, the Royal Knights are not completely good and fight for what they consider justice,some of them follow Yggdrasill with absolute loyalty,others show gratitude to those they have chosen as their masters, others have engaged in a teacher-disciple relationship, and others only seek unparalleled power.Among the Royal Knights, Dynasmon is a unique being, as he serves the lord who embodied his own sense of justice with deep, unquestioning loyalty no matter if they are evil or not. Dynasmon's whole deal is "justice equals power and deep unquestioning loyalty to one's lord" and Lordnightmon's is "the ends justify the means if it is for peace".They are both power hungry and loyal to the point of indoctrination. They are the ancestors of all Digimon yes but only the ancestors of all the Digimon from the Frontier layer not all layers or all digital worlds. They are powerful but not powerful enough to face Digimon at the level of the Four Holy Beasts,Royal Knights or Dark Masters. With all their strength they got murked by Lucemon Falldown Mode who made two Royal Knights. Lucemon Child made one of them who is stated to have the most destructive attack in the whole group,shit their pants with a GLARE. And owned Dynasmon,Lordknightmon,Mastemon and Rasielmon easily in ReArise. Almost killed them too. Aldamon and Beowolfmon who have inherited all the might of Ancientgreymon/Ancientgarurumon couldn't even bare their teeth against Cherubimon's clone let alone the original who before the events of the 1st episode made the Four Holy Beasts his personal bitches,mind controlling them and using them as his lackeys(he stands at the top of all Holy Beast Digimon for a reason). They wouldn't have done crap to the Dark Masters. The Dark Masters defeated in direct battle and sealed away the Four Holy Beasts,the Digimon who protect and maintain the balance of the space-time of all the digital worlds and all the worlds that are neither or with their existence with their influence helping to stabilize the Human World too. The Dark Masters defeated,sealed and usurped the position of the Holy Beasts as the pillars that keep the space-time of the worlds in place. They also had Nanomon construct a program that would divide all the data in the Digital World into the elements of water,forests,cities and darkness that forms Spiral Mountain,their new world order. They are not normal Digimon but the antithesis of the Holy Beasts. Apocalymon sent his toughts in the DW from behind the Wall of Fire and planeted in their minds to oppose the concept of evolution. Spiral Mountain was specifically created to strip the DW from the concept of evolution(Apocalymon's true form is the idea of non-evolution,the idea that rejects any and all kinds of evolution,the essence of the idea to not evolve). They have their parallel versions. But again they are tied to the Frontier layer. They don't appear in any other and unlike groups like the Rks,SgDLs,FHBs they don't have the abillity to time travel. Homeostasis appears in Season I and Tri as the deity that posses Hikari and the one that scanned the data of all the kids that watched the fight between Parrotmon and Greymon wich it used to create the Digivices,crests and the chosen digimon.Homeostasis was the one who sent Parrotmon in the HW to retrive Greymon whose digi-egg wondered in the human world through a spacial distortion. It is the security sistem that the DW created to keep the balance between light and darkness,after the DW decided on the concept of evolution wich would involve the DW itself evolving. It also appears in the Xros Wars manga as the replacement god for Yggdrasil who gets de-activated after the shenanigans it pulled in Savers where he tried to nuke the human world.

The Taichi from V-Tamer 01 meets the Daisuke from Digimon Adventure 02,Takuya from Frontier and Taichi from the Reboot and there are a lot of crossovers in the games. Ryo from the Wonderswan games in the Adventure 01/02 verse crosses over in Tamers etc.

+oner64 Your debating the difference between the multiverse vs the Digital World with layers. There is only one Digital universe, and the Digital World of that universe has several layers. This is different from the alternate universe that had alternate versions of Earth, each one I. their own universe. It's very complicated, and I'm not sure how to explain it without going into very long detail.
