I like how Monzaemon was beating up hordes of Numemon in this episode and in a later episode, WaruMonzaemon was beating up a bunch of Numemon while working for Machinedramon. It's a good way to keep it consistent.

Yeah but WaruMonzaemon was otherwise a lot tougher than regular Monzaemon. Regular Monzaemon lost to Togemon while WaruMonzaemon survived against Angemon, Angewomon and Birdramon.

@@samiheinonen873 Yeah, Andromon was shown definitively kicking the tar out of two Champions at once, so him being an Ultimate came as no surprise. But Monzaemon? After this performance? Granted, it looks like he could have kept going if the black gear hadn't noped out after the one needle spray, but he was very visibly hurt by the attack in a way that's unusual for an Ultimate taking an attack from a Champion. For the longest time, I was under the assumption that Monzaemon was a Champion and Warumonzaemon was the Ultimate form, rather than them BOTH being Ultimates and simply being alternate versions of each other.

The funniest thing was that Togemon was still physically one of the best (outside of Angemon and Gatomon). However, I always thought those six Champions (Greymon, Garurumon, Birdramon, Kabuterimon, Ikkakumon, Togemon) were all more or less equal, Greymon though in 02 surpassed most of them because then he fought well vs Mamemon & BigMamemon, and earlier he beat DarkTyrannomon (who was one of the strongest Champion levels at least in the first season).

Well this wasn't the only one, Let's see.. - Agumon took out Frigimon (albeit largely only because Frigimon is weak vs Fire moves) - Bakemons repeatedly lost vs Rookie levels - Agumon harmed Deramon (an Ultimate) - Snimon momentarily overpowered Garudamon - Angemon easily destroyed Phantomon and humiliated Piedmon as a MagnaAngemon - Greymon harmed Megadramon in Machinedramon Arc - Leomon was beating multiple Divermons at once (seen as a flashback) - Zudomon wounded MetalEtemon with his Hammer - MegaKabuterimon did obvious damage to Puppetmon - Shakkoumon easily absorbed BlackWarGreymon's attack and weakened his shield comfortably - SkullSatamon easily defeated Imperialdramon Dragon Mode And maybe I still forgot something XD I just mean that it's not automatic that a higher level Digimon always wins, and most of the time Chosen Digimon is at least a bit stronger than an average Digimon at the same level.

Yeah, he was pretty weak Ultimate/Perfect. Maybe I would compare him to Deramon, he was also a very weak Ultimate/Perfect, Deramon couldn't no-sold the attack of an experienced Agumon. And Pumpkinmon is also most likely at the same tier with them. Surely Phantomon was also defeated by a single Champion, but I would consider it a bit different thing because the said Champion was Angemon, who was extremely powerful Champion, and even stronger against darkness based Digimon like Phantomon. And the fact that he stomped Greymon so easily, showed that a normal Champion couldn't do crap to Phantomon.

I think quite a lot remember he was, I mean Monzaemon didn't leave any kind of vibes that he was at Ultimate level. For example, at least Andromon curbed both Greymon and Garurumon at once plus Kabuterimon only "beat" him because he hit his weak point directly. Instead, Monzaemon lost easily vs the single Champion in a fair physical battle. He seemed much weaker than even many actual Champions in the Adventure series (eg Unimon, Leomon, Ogremon, Devimon, Centarumon, Devidramon and Dokugumon).

Monzaemon was simply weak for his level. I mean even Palmon could hold him for a few seconds, and she's most probably one of the weaker Adventure Rookies. Meaning Monzaemon was barely stronger than the average Champion (even though he was level above that) and that's why Togemon owned him. At least Champion like Leomon seemed actually stronger than Monzaemon, given more experienced Togemon couldn't beat him in 1v1. And then, Leomon himself was still beaten by Devimon who was also a Champion (albeit a high tier one). Or there could be the possibility that the Black Gear would've weakened Monzaemon, but I find it a bit unlikely mostly because many other Digimon (at least Leomon, Mojyamon, and later Devimon himself) got way stronger with them.
