Virus Type Kuwagamon's is one of the most OP by lowering defense, really makes strong bosses easy to beat. It;s even improved in its Ultimate form as a triple defense-lowering attack. Always get Kuwagamon / Okuwamon in your team.

There's also Numemon that you can trade for Megadramon relatively early. If you recruit Metalgreymon using the free Toy Plane you're given, you can DNA digivolve the two of them into a Greymon that can level up into a Wargreymon. To be honest, this game is too tedious compared to other Digimon games I can't bear to play without fast level up cheat code (Just that code to ease the work of having to constantly leveling everything because of level cap system). But this game has the coolest opening among 3 classic Digimon games on PS1 (or even among all of them), has killer OSTs, and ridiculous amount of playable Digimons for the time. Maybe also the first one to features Voice acting, tho tied to the moves that characters which can be hilarious sometimes to hear a cute Digimon use heavy voice in some moves or vice versa the cool ones using kid/female voice in those moves. It's kinda ambitious, not too good but commendable.

I loved the game, I will agree though, the only shame is that Digimons can't skip levels (you have to pass through every level one at a time) but I loved the system, it was fun to have Digimons use skills from other Digimons, IMO they should have a used a pitch feature to pitch the sounds depending on the casting Digimon. The dungeon crawler was interesting but also boring at times, but still that did not stop the game from being one of my favorite Digimon games. For me Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth fixed all the issues I had with this game.

Me too, whenever I play it now, it's with the support of cheats, because the grinding in this game is just way too much. I don't have too much time free anymore, and have other things to do and other games to play!! I change the digimon to the one I want to play with, give it whatever techniques I want, and give it balanced/appropriate stats for the given moment at the game (I don't want to make it too easy! still want challenging battles :D )

Personally, as long as there is a speed up option, the grind is no longer as tedious. Was able to play this game like an hour a day and beat it relatively quickly. The levels are not that difficult to go through and grinding is not as tedious as you think so long as you advance properly. Able to get to Megas with little to no difficulty by the time you reach the 1/2 way marker. Which by that point you have a team roughly in DP 3-4 and should be capable of ending the game with that team with really no trouble at all, as you also would have gotten plenty of money for upgrades and even a bunch of Max Drives that will just never let you down.

I keep saying I'd love a game that uses tons of the concepts from this as a pokemon go or Pokemon competitor. Have an open world File Island kind of like legends arceus but with Digimon locations like toy Town for example. Have the teams from this stay as teams our tamer can choose from but also would determine their first Partner Digimon. Keep the colleseum and have online play and have the tamer club but have it be an online trading center.

@@kaizoku8087 Thats not a bug, Shadow Scythe does that. A cheaper Giga Cannon but the opponent must die before the alternate shot and the shots after the First attack doesnt cost any MP.

The cut digimon (found by datamining) are, if i recall correctly: modokibetamon, muchomon, sharmamon, psycheimon, hyogamon. I'm missing a couple, i think there were 8

Some digimon Have to be evolved with DP higher than 5 to get (exp. Raidramon). The rarest digimon needs to be evolved with DP 20 (exp. Diaboromon). Omnimon as always needs combine metalgarurumon + wargreymon with DP 20. You will encounter rare enemy in the 99 floor dungeon (exp Jijimon) but i forget who is the rarest wild digimon encounter
