@Danny DeVoid I was the guy who asked question 2 (if the DP combine), thank you very much again for your answer :) Great video once again. One tiny correction however: For question 1, your guard teams allow DNA Digivolution of your teams attribute and it's weaker one. For example: I joined the Gold Swords (Vaccine Team), and in their lab I can DNA Digivolve 2 Vaccine Digimon or 1 Vaccine + 1 Virus (as the Vaccine comes out on top) Any attempt of digivolving Data (even with Virus who they 'lose' to) is not allowed in the Team HQ however.
@matthewkuscienko46162 жыл бұрын
To add onto this, when you DNA digivolve 2 Digimon of different types, the stronger of the 2 will determine the result you will get. This means that if you do vaccine + virus, you get a vaccine Digimon, meanwhile combining a data + vaccine makes a data Digimon, and finally, data + virus makes a virus Digimon. This is why the guard teams restrict which types you can use to DNA digivolve, since if you join the Blue Falcons, for example, they forbid you from using virus Digimon since you cannot yield a data type offspring when you combine them, and data is the type that team specializes in raising

@@matthewkuscienko4616 Exactly. I'll also add one more small piece for anyone who may care: depending on the type of parents, the offspring will be of the same genus as the strong gene parent. For example: Mixing an Insectoid Digimon with an Acquatic Digimon will result in the new offspring being Acquatic (For example Dolphmon + Kabuterimon will result in a Gomamon) but an Insectoid mixed with Dragons/Beasts will yield an Insectoid (For example Kuwagamon + Greymon/Garurumon = Tentomon)

@@derpanzermacher9094 I seem to recall the guidebook for the game calling this concept "DNA references", which could be used to determine what Digimon you could get with DNA digivolution, but it didn't fully explain it very clearly. For example: if 2 or more Digimon had the same DNA reference, it wouldn't tell you which of those results you'd get for combining 2 specifically Digimon, and it also didn't mention that you could get Veemon, but not Flamedramon or Raidramon by DNA digivolving as well, leaving there to be a little bit of guess work to be done. It also wasn't the most accurate, either, as there were certain digivolutions that the book had listed that were just flat out wrong, such as stating that Panjyamon was able to become either Phoenixmon or Imperialdramon, for example
@TheShinyFeraligatr2 жыл бұрын
@@matthewkuscienko4616 So, to just be level about how the system works. Every Digimon in the game effectively has one of 21 Jogress types - 6 are for Vaccines, 8 are for Datas, and 7 are for Viruses (Although Viruses have two lines that don't go all the way - Hagurumon's lines and Gizamon/Betamon's lines which are grouped together - and Data has both the Elecmon line which only doesn't die out if it switches types, and the weird case where Yanmamon and Sandyanmamon have a Jogress Type, and then Sandyanmamon can't evolve and Yanmamon submises into the Togemon line). Typically speaking, unless a Digimon has more than 8 DP, they will not adjust their Jogress Type as they evolve (8 DP also being the point where you start seeing cross-type evolutions.), barring the extremely specific case of Zudomon, who for reasons that totally defy all sense of logic actually switches types until he gets enough DP for some reason. This means, yes, that Hagurumon's five Adult forms, and the three Perfect forms they can reach, are all in the same Jogress type. The extremely massive family trees of Gottsumon and Gabumon that intersect at the Perfect level, outside Gabumon's ability to go Garurumon with enough DP, all share their Jogress type.

It’s good to know about the DP not combining, but it would be helpful if it did to get some of the Digivolutions that require 20 DP to get them

I wanted to add a correction here: The Base's only allow you to DNA their type specialty and the type they are strong against since it will always result in either for example Black Sword only allows: Virus type (Virus + Virus/Data) or Data type (Data + Data). The end result will always be either that base's type specialty or the type it is strong against. Another thing for the signature moves, every digimon will acquire their signature move 1 level after they are eligible to digivolve into the next stage so 11 for champion, 21 for ultimate, and 31 for mega with the signature moves at 12/22/32 for their respective stages. One last thing: Techs are passed down from parent to child along with their stats. The stats are calculated as (Parent 1 + Parent 2)/2 for the base stats of the resulting digimon. Tech's are interesting in that they can appear between 2-4 levels after digivolving if the digimon was a product of a DNA digivolution, I haven't really found a rhyme as to how some techs will show up at earlier levels compared to later. The only time you can either add or remove a tech is when the green tech list is displayed when your digimon learns a new tech, this is also the only way to organize your techs either by ascending/descending mp cost, alphabetical order, or whatever your preferred order method is. Edit: Changed combinations allowed in example (Bases only allow DNA of specialty and type strong against)

The editing here is so smooth, man. And the PS1 shot. Very nice. I also like the way you point things out in the gameplay. And on the game itself; graphically I really like the style. Those menus ooze soul.

One particular thing that was hard to figure out was what two would make what, if I wanted to plan ahead on keeping up the same digimon line for multiple generations. Take Veemon for example. Getting it to become Veedramon was cool but when I discovered from my cousin that it could become Flamedramon after a couple more dna lines. I got frustrated because I had a hard time early game figuring out what could dna with Veedramon to get it too Veemon again and Early Ultimate Digimon like Metalgreymon or Megadramon were a bummer to fodder off so soon and it only took longer to max out it’s level to get the chance to dna digivolve again without waisting the level potential

If memory serves me right, the DNA digivolve'd digivolve is stronger than the regular one you can find. I remember my veemon who was eligible for flamedramon having much higher stats than a regular wild champion digimon

You should consider running a playthrough of Digimon World 2 alternative. It's a recent ROM hack that adds a bunch of different things to the game and makes it interesting to play. It is still in progress and being tweaked but it has some stable versions now! I'm on v5.
@JetZV2 жыл бұрын
I posted on the last part about how to get Veemon in this game; now I'll explain how I planned it out in my most recent playthrough. The first time I got it, I just kept using DNA to get it down to either Veemon or Biyomon without any diversity; this time, I went a different route (the main Digimon is the first one listed). My path went: Greymon + Airdramon = Veemon Veedramon + Drimogemon = Floramon Deramon + Woodmon = Mushroomon Cherrymon + Mojyamon = Tapirmon Mammothmon + Ninjamon = Patamon P-Mamemon + Bakemon = DemiDevimon V-Myotismon + Birdramon = Biyomon Phoenixmon + Greymon = Veemon, later becoming Imperialdramon or I-dramon. This path is Rookie-driven and ends at level 44 if you follow my method exactly; you could easily change the path if you wanted some more valuable moves or a higher level cap. With a limit of 12 moves total, your options are limited in terms of Interrupts and Assists, but heavy on Counters thanks to the Mamemon line and it has basic Attacks of all types if you want diversity. There are plenty of options, but the only condition is that you NEED to get it down to Veemon at the end. Basically, Greymon will be necessary as the last step.

How am I supposed to get not get icedevimon and his other form instead when I can’t get him DP without DNADigivolution and losing him??? So confusing… The only way to get a desired digimon is by acquiring a certain amount of DP before digivolution, but the only way to gain DP is by losing that digimon?

@DannyDeVoid2 жыл бұрын
If you want Demidevimon with a lot of DP you must continue to DNA Digivolve him when he turns into a Champion (icedevimon). Basically, I would raise two Demidevimon, evolve them into champions (both Icedevimon) and then DNA those two Icedevimon together. When combined, you'll end up with a new Demidevimon with 1 DP and a higher level cap, keep doing this by recruiting another Demidevimon each time to eventually digivolve and DNA with and you'll always end with a Demidevimon that has more DP and a higher level cap than before. It is very grindy and takes a awhile, but it is doable.

You can always resort to using cheat codes. Each digimon will still only level up once per battle. And you still have to DNA digivolve to increase their max level I'd say go for it. It's a single player game anyway

I'm guessing somebody else might have pointed this out before, but just in case everyone else has missed on this: there is an error on your level cap formula. The correct way to calculate the level cap, is as follows: take the current level of the First mon you use for the DNA Digivolution as BASE, then, take the level of the SECOND mon and divide it my 5, the resulting integer is added to the current level of the first mon and that will be the new level cap. Since I might have not explained it as smoothly as possible, here's an example. First mon - Greymon lvl 20 Second mon - Birdramon lvl 16 Resulting mon: Veemon lvl cap 23 Because 20 + (16/3) = 20 + 3 = 23 This is why you should use the highest level mon as base (i.e. First mon), if you used the same mons, but in the opposite order, you'd end up with the same level cap as Greymon: 16 + (20/5) = 16 + 4 = 20
