How to repair Hitachi Cp-A222WN projector - lens problem

Very helpful in getting to the focus mecahnism of a CP-AW2519N. I applied externally a quantity of Moly grease to the visible sliding parts of the lens focus mechanism and this has freed it enough for the previously inoperative focus to work. I am wondering what is the official way of lubricating the focus mechanism and what you did to lubricate or free the mechanism in the projector in the video. The Hitachi service manual says nothing about this problem !

Hello! Hope you read this! I have a Hitachi CP-2519AN, which I find pretty similar to the one in your video. Don't know why but the image in my wall is blurry and totally out of focus. The +++FOCUS+++ keys in the remote seem to do nothing. Any suggestions? I've followed the steps from your video already. Thanks in advance.

Thanks your video helped a lot but if I take apart and clean the lens inside will the picture improve more cause I put a new bulb and it looks fantastic but look inside the lens bulb looks like it could use a good clean and wipe what do you think

Hi you can use cleaning kits like in the normal DSLR lens.

thanks for the step by step, it did help! One question about this thing, the brightness adjustment doesn't do anything, the slider goes from -32 to +32, but it makes no difference whatsoever. Is it only mine? The contrast works if I were to compare it with anything.

hi, may be the optical unit is defective. check all the parts inside the optical unit.

Hi Kevin! Thank you for the comment:) This repair is related with focus motor. The focus function was not available and this is the reason to disassemble the projector. Together with this i have cleaned the lens as well. If you have problem with blurry images , check the lens for AXIS (need projector and light source). @@DIGISERVICEBG .. thanks for replying. I have purchased another Hitachi cp222wm which has focus. Much better. The lenses get very dirty inside as shown with bulb on. Bulbs seem to last 5k or better. A good value on used market.

When you say lens problem, what are you meaning? I have a unit that is cycling the cover/mirror and won't turn on. Is that what you mean, or are you referring to the inside of the lens being dirty

Hi Brian :) Yes, beside of the dust inside the lens has a problem with the focus motor(the focus function was prohibited). So after the cleaning , i've check the motor and make adjustment to move the focus ring smooth.

Thanks. I'll have to tear mine down as there are parts rattling inside and I can get it to run while holding it at very odd angles that changes each time. I think there is a sensor that isn't getting hit. This tear down video is going to be very helpful so thank you for doing it.

Issue with mine is the shutter doors in front of the lamp act up, causing it to shutsdown. Its hit and miss if it will stay on. There's no obstructions, its just being to sensitive.

Hello, I have Hitachi CP-TW 3005, it displays ghosting. I removed the connection from computer, then I open the menu still it displays ghosting. Any idea. Thank you.

Hi and thank you for the comment :) You 'll need to take off the optical unit and check the polarized panels, lens groups and all parts , related with optical unit. There is something misaligned. Regards!
